Abstract

1,060,571. Two part connector; edge connectors. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. Dec. 11, 1964 [Feb. 6, 1964], No. 5137/64. Heading H2E. Axial movement of a contact 5 (Fig. 2) within a recess 3 in an insulating body 4, is limited in one direction by the shape of the recess, and in the opposite direction by means of a stop 8 which is formed separately from the tailpiece 6 of the contact and secure thereto after the contact has been inserted into the recess. In the embodiment described, the stop 8 is a resilient sleeve (Fig. 5, not shown) which fits into notches 6a (Fig. 3, not shown) on the tailpiece. Several such contacts may be provided side-by-side in a housing, to give an edge connector.
