Abstract

1,057,317. Filters. A. KNECHT. Oct. 15, 1963 [Oct. 27, 1962], No. 40574/63. Heading BID. Liquid, for example liquid hydrocarbons, to be clarified passes firstly through a felt filter pad 4 and then through a second filter pad 3 made of radially folded paper inserted between two concentric, perforated tubes 1 and 2. The end faces of the filter pads are covered by flat annular plastics plates 9 which are joined to the pads in the molten state. The ends of the tube 1 are retracted inwards and receive the flanges 6 of angle rings 7 which are embedded in the plates 9. The plates are thickened to form sealing rings 10 in the region of their inner rims, and the outer rims 11 overlap the filter pad 4. The felt pad may comprise several layers of felt sheet wound around the tube 2 and secured in position by sheet metal strips 5.
