1,042,301. Treating textiles. PNEUMATIQUES, CAOUTCHOUC MANUFACTURE ET PLASTIQUES KLEBER COLOMBES. May 15,1963 [May 15, 1962], No. 19302/63. Heading D1P. [Also in Divisions B2 and B5] A conveyer belt suitable for use at temperatures of 200-300‹C. comprises one or more plies of a compound fabric of glass fibres and asbestos fibres. As shown, such a fabric comprises glass fibre strengthening warps 1 and woofs 2, asbestos woofs 3 of larger diameter and glass fibre joining threads 4. The fabric may be impregnated with a heat-resistant fluorinated elastomer or a silicone varnish. A heat resistant coating may be applied such as p.t.f.e., a silicone elastomer or butyl rubber, the coating may be arranged to soften under the action of heat and may be vulcanized. One or more such plies may constitute the web of the belt; alternatively such a ply may be used with plies of natural or synthetic textile material. The compound fabric may be impregnated on one upper surface only, the other surface being covered by a layer of elastomeric material.
