The vehicle seat consists of a seat cushion (12) and a seat back (14). It is formed with a frame and padding, mounted on the frame. CLAIMS 1. Seat for a motor vehicle, comprising a seat (12; 20; 41) and a backrest (14; 22; 42) and comprising a carcass and a padding mounted on the carcass, characterized in that it further comprises at at least one bead (16; 24; 38; 44) extending from one of the lateral faces of the seat and mounted movably relative to the carcass to laterally modify the geometrical configuration of the seat.

2. Seat according to claim 1, characterized in that the bead (24) is movably mounted parallel to the general longitudinal axis of the seat (12) or of the backrest (14) on which it is mounted.

3. Seat according to claim 2, characterized in that the bead (24) is carried by a rod engaging in a slide formed longitudinally in the lateral face of the seat (12) or of the backrest (14) on which it has climbed.

4. Seat according to claim 1, characterized in that the bead (24) is mounted movably perpendicular to the general longitudinal axis of the seat (20) or the backrest (22) on which it is mounted.

5. Seat according to claim 4, characterized in that the bead (44) is mounted movably in translation in a direction extending in the extension of the lateral area of the seat on which it is mounted.

Seat according to one of claims 4 and 5, characterized in that the bead is carried by a rod (26) which is slidably mounted in a slot (28) formed transversely in the seat and which is provided with notches (30) in which engages a locking key (32) carried by the seat and urged to bear against the rod.

Set of seats (10, 17, 18) for a motor vehicle, said seats being slidably mounted with respect to each other between a first position in which at least one of the seats is offset from the other seats and a second position in which the seats are aligned, characterized in that the seats (10,17, 18) are constituted by seats according to any one of claims 1 to 3, each seat comprising at least one pair of beads (16 ) mounted respectively on one of the lateral faces of the seat (12) and of the backrest (14), the beads being mounted in a movable manner between a first configuration according to which they are positioned in the vicinity of the connection area of the backrest ( 14) and the seat (12) to increase the useful width of the seat and a second configuration in which they are nested in the beads (16) of a lateral seat.
