Abstract

The steam iron (1), consisting of a heated sole (2), a body with a handle (5) and an evaporation chamber (3), incorporates a multi-function component of a heat resistant plastic material that forms a thermal screen and skirt (85) of the iron, at least part of the evaporation chamber above the sole, and the base of its water reservoir (4). The multi function component makes contact with the sole of the iron via joints (84) of an elastomer foam.
