Abstract

The shelter, e.g. in the shape of a tunnel or dome, is made from a series of inflatable tubes with panels of a flexible material between. The tubes can be made, for example, from PVC-coated polyester fabric, designed for mechanical strength and resistance to external factors such as water, ice, heat or UV rays. The panels are able to resist stresses such as repeated folding or substantial tension. The tubes can be inflated with the aid of one or more compressors, and in some cases mechanical aids will be necessary to erect the shelter.
