Abstract

The tubular post or picket is demountable and lockable in position by a key, and may support chains controlling a highway acces or similar applications. The post is of a capped circular hollow section and slides into a socket embedded in the highway surface. It is secured by a bayonette fastener with an inverted L-shaped slot in the post engaging a radial socket bore pin. A vertical rod guided by a fixed sleeve slides down to lock the pin in the slot, its head being pinned to a radius arm on a horizontal rotatable axle. The axle passes through the post wall to fix to a triangular section block which may be rotated by a socket spanner. The block may be recessed in a length of tube which is welded radially to the past barrel.
