Abstract

The adjustable seat is particularly for rail vehicles, and has a swing link (5) underneath and towards the front, and a sliding joint, typically with a shoe and slide (2, 3, 9, 10) to the rear of the backrest (7). The slide can be curved profile, allowing the backrest to descend slowly over virtually all its stroke, and with an opening in its convex face, through which the shoe can be freed when the seat is tilted forwards.
