Abstract

The safety car seat for a child offers additional security to the sitter. It consists of a seat(1), the cushion(20) of which is movably mounted above the vehicle seat, by means of two soft sides(21) hanging from the arm-rests (3). An energy absorbent strip for the torso and head of the child has a central cavity opening on the back of the seat. The cavity enables the strip to be slipped onto the sloping part(9) of the seat back, and the crosswise part (10) of an attachment. A lock automatically engages with the crosswise attachment part(10) when the strip has been slipped right down. The lock is released when pressure is exerted on it.
