Abstract

The automobile boot lock may use a hand flap (30) of which the arm (29) pivots a sliding sprung rocking lever (21) driving a crank arm (18) on a sleeve (16). This contains a pivot bolt (10) drive spindle (17). Locking or unlocking is manual by a key-operated cylinder lock (40) or remote controlled electrically driven slide (45), entailing the sliding of a lever (21) out of or into the path of the arm (29). A second hand lever can slide the lever, and locking by key uses pin (41) on a radius arm (39). The slide (45) uses a sprung (55) two-lobed ratchet lever (49) of which one lobe acts on control lever (36) excess slide (45) travel causing the lever (49) to pivot and present the other lobe (50a) to the lever (36) stop (36a) in readiness for unlocking.
