Abstract

The electrolyser comprises at least one cell (1, 1') containing the electrolyte, is equipped with electrode plates (2), pre-electrode plates (5, 6) and diaphragms (4). The said cell comprises at least one metallic spacing member (7, 8) a resilient part of which (73, 83) is fastened to an electrode plate (2) and to a pre-electrode plate (5, 6) and another part of which (75, 85) forms a buffer whose thickness is smaller than the gap between the said electrode plate (2) and the said pre-electrode plate (5, 6).
