Abstract

The buckle for fastening straps such as the chin straps of helmets consists of a U-shaped frame (2) and a roller (5). The roller is mounted between the branches (3) of the frame and rotates eccentrically on an axle (4) so that the free end of a strap (12) can be introduced between the roller and the base of the U. The surface of the roller is roughened (13) to hold the strap in place. The strap is introduced through a slot (11) in the plate (9) joining the two branches. The buckle is fixed to the other strap by a slot (7) in the base of the U.
