Abstract
Method comprises absorbing the H2 in a complex mixture of Mg and >=1 other metal (alloy) in powder form, esp. La/Ni alloy, V, Ti and ferrotitanium. The metal is chosen so that at ambient temp. then is already a hydrogen pressure after absorption. The H2 fuel source is used in engines or other receivers or transformers of energy (e.g. fuel cells). MgH2 is cheap and provides high concn. of H2, the additive metals bring the H2 disengagement temp. to approx ambient and the metals are highly reactive with H2, so that the hydrides are readily regenerated.
