Abstract
The fuse safety and arming device is for a fuse having an igniter followed by one or more charges. A first component acting as a seal is inserted in the path of the gases between igniter and charge and thrust aside by their pressure. A second arming component coupled to an actuator has one position in which it prevents the gases firing the charge and a second one allowing this. The sealing component (30) is held in position by a locking device (31) which releases it when pressure exceeds a predetermined value. The arming component has a moving sealing portion (20) which in the armed position forms opposite the igniter a first free chamber connecting it (11) to the sealing component.
