Abstract

La présente invention concerne un appareil et un procédé pour épaissir sélectivement par voie mecanique une feuille continue de papier. L'appareil comprend un dispositif pour former une feuille continue non compacte, un tissu d'impression mobile adapté pour recevoir cette feuille continue, un feutre épaississeur coopérant avec ce tissu d'impression pour former un premier étranglement de compression avec celui-ci à travers lequel passe la feuille continue et où celle-ci est épaissie mécaniquement et comprimée par ces éléments de compression et un dispositif pour sécher définitivement la feuille continue mécaniquement épaissie. L'invention est utilisable dans l'industrie de fabrication de papier.
