Abstract

An injection moulding machine for thermoplastic articles, e.g. parts required in the mfr. of boots and shoes, includes a pair of split moulds. One of them is fixed to the machine frame and the other is movable on an axle around which it can be turned through 180 degrees by a rack and pinion mechanism. It carries cavities for the desired mouldings on one or both sides. This makes the mould easily accessible for the attendant if, for example, an inlay leather sole has to be inserted in the moulded shoe sole and heel. The labour costs are reduced and the productivity increased.
