Abstract

The child's seat on the supermarket trolley has a moulded plastics seat (108) hinged on a moulded plastics back and braced by metal stays to fold flat against the inside of the trolley when not in use. The plastics surfaces provide a comfortable support and do not corrode, and are easily cleaned. A main stay (36) has the bottom end profiled (42) to clip into a slotted plastics covering over the end of the trolley. The seat plate is hinged on the main stay and has its other edge in a sliding mounting (26) on the end of the trolley.
