Abstract

The chassis of a towed vehicle comprises longitudinal T-section steel beams each of which is reduced in height at its front end. A piece is cut from the remainder and is turned head to tail. Two slits are made in the web of the cut piece which is bent to fit the remainder. Securing together of the parts may be effected by continuous welding, or by bolts or rivets. Between one quarter and one third of the length of the longitudinal beam is affected.
