Abstract

The modular precast unit building system use a primary structural slab module (26) of polygonal, e.g. hexagonal or isosceles triangular form, and now mounts the primary modules (26) in polygonal ring beams (25). The ring beam provides for connections to structural columns or walls and for the mounting of false ceiling and floor units (30, 30A). In cross-section the inner face of the ring beam may be stepped (252) to provide a bearing seat for the edges of the primary slab (26) and the remaining corners may be rebated (253) to receive ribbed cover and soffit (28) fascia slabs. The soffit slabs (28) may be bolted (29) to ferrules in the lower face of the ring beams (25) and 'Z' section hangers (31) lodging over the slab (26) seat may support the false ceiling panels (30). The false floor panels (30A) may lodge in a rebated (27) recess delineated by the cover panels.
