Abstract
Normally the radius of operation and the traction load of battery vehicles is limited by battery size. In this motor the permanent magnet pole pieces are made of Iron, Nickel, Cobalt and Copper in the form called 'Trigonal' (RTM). The pole faces are accurately machined to provide a predetermined air gap between them and the rotor. The rotor has three poles and is laminated. The windings consist of flat enamel-led copper wire. These are connected in a star format to a three section collector ring and brushes and to a common point. The motor can be used for energy recovery and braking. With this motor the battery weight on the vehicle can be reduced.
