Abstract

The pistol comprises barrel-breech 5, 16 and hammer-firing pin 19 extending into the end of hammer head 3. The hammer head and firing pin are each retractable within a tube casing 2 which has a radial hand grip 1 against the action of coaxial springs 13, 24. The piston will not fire unless barrel is retracted by pressure from work surface, when firing pin percussion spring 24, now armed, is locked, thus obviating further rearming if axial pressure should be relaxed. A casing mounted, telescoping radial catch 26 locating a peripheral groove 28 in the striker shaft 19 effects the lock and rotation of a terminal casing cap 31, pref. via trigger and rod etc., effects release and firing. Firing with barrel released but striker armed does not detonate the explosive charge.
