Abstract

Dibenzocycloheptenes of formula (I) and their acid addition and quat. ammonium salts where R = butyl, benzyl, propyl, methyl, 2-methylaminoethyl, 2-dimethylaminoethyl, 2-aminoethyl, methylamino-acetyl or 2-chloroethyl, R1 = H and R2 = H, except when R = methyl when R2 = 8-Cl are antidepressants, anticonvulsants, and sedatives. When R = butyl the HCl salt of (I) is claimed, and when R = 2-dimethylaminoethyl the fumarate of (I) is also claimed.
