Abstract

A shelving unit has U-section uprights (1) with straight or U shaped slots (7, 8) in their sides (4, 5), these slots being at an angle to the vertical. The ends of the U-section stringers (2) fit through the slots in the uprights and are twisted so that notches (15, 16) engage the uprights to lock the stringers. Transverse members (3) locate on top of the stringers to lock them in place. Notches (18) in the transverse member legs fit over the cut away webs of the stringers. Each transverse member has slits (19) along its top face for locating the steel shelves.
