Abstract
Analysis of a burst of radioactivity which is circulated by a fluid in a pipe by (a) measuring the activity of the circulating fluid at a point in pipe (b) detecting the instant at which the measured activity passes through a maximum (c) holding the burst of radioalctivity in a part of the pipe forming a measuring chamber and carrying out the analysis of the activity of the burst therein. Allows the activity of a burst of radioactivity, e.g. due to corrosion and escape of fission products from a fuel element, to be determined whatever the amplitlude and duration of such a burst.
