Abstract

A layer of insulating material (2) is fixed to an inclined roof (1) which has a suitable orientation. On top of the insulation are placed heat exchangers (3) which have a large surface area. A framework (5) is held a few centimetres above th heat exchangers by supporting struts (6) which can be attached to the insulation, the heat exchangers or directly to the roof. A transparent cover (4) is placed on top of the framework (5) and attached to it. The collector is completed by side walls (7) perpendicular to the plane of the roof closing the gap between the cover (4) and the roof (1) and made of suitable materials on site. They can have small air slots (8) to permit limited ventilation and prevent condensation within the collector.
