Abstract
The heater has a small vertical water tube (1). Standard commercially available sheathed heating elements (2) run vertically along the outside of the tube and are firmly bonded to it. This makes a simple and cheap assembly. An outer case (6) is placed round the water tube (1) and the heating elements (2) and the space within the case round the outside of the tube and heaters is packed with a metallic powder which is heat resisting and thermally conducting. water is admitted by a ball valve (3) and discharged through an outlet (5) above the inlet reservoir water level. The valve is lifted and the water discharge by steam pressure as soon as the water starts to boil.
