Abstract

The arm (107) is fitted at its end with a ferrule (108). In the end of the arm is a rectangular hole (107a), going right through it. The ferrule consists of an opening (110) at its far end between two near parallel portions (111), (112). The wiper blade joint is cylindrical, with two flats. The bottom (110a) of a circular opening (110) is shaped to receive the shaft and the near parallel portions taper inwards, slightly towards this hole. The distance between the two near parallel portions equals that of the flats on the shaft. Inside the ferrule is a protuberance (104) which dips into the hole (107a) through the end of the arm so as to retain the latter.
