Abstract

The permanent magnet system consists of a housing cylinder (circular or polyhedral cross-section) of soft ferromagnetic material into which a ferromagnetic pole-core is inserted leaving a gap. Except for some area at one end the gap is filled by one or more permanent magnets of perpendicular polarisation relative to the housing axis. The housing and the pole-core have then opposite magnetic polarity and both ends form then a magnetic adhesion plane. To secure single end adhesion a top cover of nonmagnetic material can be used. In the free gap between housing and pole core at the bottom an electromagnetic coil is inserted with wire connections to the top cover.
