Abstract

Liquid compositions consists of a liquid vehicle, a hydrocarbon wax and small proportion of butyl rubber, and pref. a small proportion of water-repellant metal soap. The proportion of wax is 3 - 30 times the amount of butyl rubber, the wax having a m.pt. of 50 - 60 degrees C. The textiles are treated by the solution and the solvent is then evaporated. The composition confers properties such as resistance to water, staining and creasing, and improves the 'touch'. The solution may be used as a dry-cleaning fluid.
