Abstract

1350236 Bearings; clutch control SKF KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN GmbH 19 April 1971 [19 Feb 1970] 22006/71 Headings F2A and F2L A clutch release rolling bearing comprises sheet metal races 1, 2, 18, 20, a sheet metal sleeve 12, 22 surrounding the inner race, a labyrinth seal formed between adjacent edges 6, 7, 17, 19 of the races, a supporting ring 5, 26 of resilient material such as plastics for the inner race, and means with which an annular flange 9, 25 engages with small clearance to act as a further seal and to limit axial separation of the races. The means may be a groove 11 in the supporting ring or a separate ring 16 of resilient material such as plastics. The races are hardened by nitriding. In an alternative embodiment, the inner race and sleeve do not extend to the axial edges of the supporting ring as is the case in the embodiment of Figure 2.
