Abstract
Discharge tube thermo-electric converter. Two electrodes, mutually insulated and at different temps are mounted within the tube which under operational conditions is filled with ionizable vapour, e.g. Cs released from a reservoir block of fireproof material and large effective surface area. This is fitted to the cooler of the two electrodes. It is of porous sintered W and/or Mo with a Cs loading or of pyrolytic graphite similarly loaded. The electrodes are coaxial cylinders and the block is fitted in a cut out at the end of the cold electrode.
