Abstract
Ceramic piezoelectric materials and transducers made form solid solutions in the ternary system PbTiO3 -PbZrO3 - Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3 with addition of 0.1 to 5% NiO and 0.1 to 5% MnO2. More specif. compsns. within the area 50, 0 to 6, 25% Pb(Mg 1/3 Nb 2/3) O3; 50, 0 to 25, 0% PbTiO3; 62, 5 to 12, 5% PbZrO3 plus 1.5 to 6% (MnO2 + NiO) with coupling factors Kp>30%; and Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3) 0.375 Ti0.375Zr0.25O3, 0.5% MnO2, 0.5% NiO and Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)3.4375Ti0.4375Zr0.125O3, 0.5% MnO2, 0.5% NiO with coupling factors Kp >=45%. The materials combine high mechanical quality factor with high Kp plus relatively high dielectric constant and low losw factor.
