Abstract
Nitrosourea derivatives of the formula < IMAGE > in which A is a glycosyl group, a monovalent radical of methyl glucoside from which the 2-hydroxy group has been removed, a monovalent radical of an alditol from which the 2-hydroxy group has been removed, an N-substituted carbamoyloxyalkyl group or a hydroxy-substituted cyclohexyl group when n equals 1, or a tetravalent radical of ribostamycin from which the four amino groups have been removed when n equals 4, and R is a lower alkyl group or a halogen-substituted lower alkyl group, with R not being a methyl group when A is a glucosyl group, are obtained by treatment of a compound of the formula < IMAGE > in which A, R and n have the same meaning as indicated above, with a nitrosating agent. The compounds have high activity against leukaemia and tumours, with low toxicity.
