Abstract

Improvements in stacking apparatus, particularly in a fully automatic corrugated cardboard stacking apparatus, which cooperates with a cutting device for cutting an endless band of corrugated cardboard into loose sheets, said device forming a corrugated cardboard producing apparatus, equipped with said stacking apparatus of conveyor means provided with belts for the movement of one or more columns of sheets to be stacked, stop elements that extend over the entire width of said conveyor means; at least one stacking device and at least one discharge device for the stacks formed, characterized in that the apparatus comprises upper conveyor means for the sheets, consisting of a first upper endless conveyor belt (A) driven by a motor (4) and a second upper endless conveyor belt (B) normally positioned in a direct line with respect to said first conveyor belt and driven by the same motor and an independent lower endless conveyor belt (D) driven by motor portal (31), each motor being adjustable to through a tachogenerator, with all the conveyor belts having a lower linear speed than that of the passing belts; said first upper conveyor belt (A) and said lower conveyor belt (D) being provided at their upstream ends with brushes (7, 8; 33, 34) extending over the entire width of the belt; photoelectric cells (28, 38a, 13, 28b, 28c) being positioned at said two ends of each conveyor belt to monitor the height of the pile on the belt or associated stacking device, said photoelectric cells providing by means of hydraulic switches and levers such vertical displacement of said conveyor belts and a lever table that a minimum constant height of leaf fall is always obtained; there being other switches and a magnetic coupling between said first and second upper conveyor means to stop said second upper conveyor means and said lower conveyor means while changing the stack while delaying movement of said first upper conveyor means; in which at the downstream end of the second upper conveyor belt and said lower conveyor belt, a polyurethane-coated driven roller (10, 10a) is positioned which is capable of cooperating with the roller (17) of a rotary valve (16, 33a) adjustable by a microswitch and extending over the entire width of the associated belt, or of a stacker station (c) and an intermediate stacker station (K), with the stacker station (C) being positioned at the end of said second upper conveyor belt and said lower conveyor belt.
