Abstract

Earth boring equipment for mounting on other apparatus, such as an excavator 2, comprises a frame member 16 attachable to the apparatus, and a platform 18 movable along the member and housing a rotary table 20. An auger 32 is universally mounted on a telescopic kelly 28 suspended by the drag line 30 of the excavator, and engaging the table which is driven by four hydraulic motors 22. The motors are arranged in parallel so as to be independently operable and one motor may be reversible.
