Description

The present invention relates to a side handle for an electric hand-held power tool. The side handle has a gripping area designed for gripping by a user and a clamping unit. By means of the clamping unit, the side handle can be releasably attached to a machine neck of the hand-held power tool, wherein the clamping unit has an operating element by means of which the clamping unit can be clamped and released.

Side handles of the type mentioned above are basically known from the state of the art. EP 1 974 867 B1 discloses a handle for a hand-held tool having a pair of clamp halves, an operating device having an operating part adapted to open and close the clamp halves relative to the support part, and a handle body configured to be gripped by an operator. A side handle according to the preamble of claim 1 is known from US6317930 B1 known.

It is an object of the present invention to provide an ergonomic side handle.

The object is achieved by the features of claim 1, wherein the operating element, when the clamping unit is in the clamped state, is essentially flush with the surface of the handle area. The operating element designed according to the invention allows the side handle, in particular its handle area, to be gripped particularly comfortably by a user who is now advantageously not hindered by an operating part protruding above the handle area, such as knurled knobs known in the art. At the same time, a clamping screw typically used for clamping can be made comparatively short, which can save both material and weight.

It has proven to be advantageous if the operating element is designed as a clamping lever. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the clamping lever is arranged on the side handle so that it can rotate about a rotation axis with respect to the grip area. The rotation axis preferably runs perpendicular to a working axis of the handheld power tool when the side handle is attached to the handheld power tool. In a further particularly preferred embodiment, the rotation of the clamping lever about the rotation axis is limited to 360 degrees, preferably to 180 degrees. In this regard, it was recognized that with side handles of the prior art, it is typically necessary to rotate the operating part several times, which takes a long time, in order to adjust and move the side handle to the desired position both around the working axis of the hand tool and in the tilting axis. In other words, with side handles of the prior art, a clamping band which is rotated several times, i.e. by more than 360 degrees, by a clamping screw which interacts with the operating part.

According to a further preferred embodiment, the rotation of the clamping lever about the axis of rotation is limited to 340 degrees. This allows the clamping band holders to be moved or pushed further away from each other, making it easier to mount and dismount the side handle on or from a handheld power tool.

It has been found to be advantageous if a stop is formed on the clamping lever, which stop is preferably designed to complement a counter-stop provided on the handle area. The handle area can have a hollow profile or can essentially be formed by such a profile.

The clamping unit has two clamping bodies in the form of a cylinder section, each of which is oriented coaxially to a clamping screw of the clamping unit that runs in the axis of rotation. The clamping unit preferably has a clamping band holder and a clamping band provided for enclosing the machine neck. Preferably, one of the clamping bodies in the form of a cylinder section is formed in one piece with the clamping lever or is at least connected to it in a rotationally fixed manner. The clamping band holder can have two holding bodies, preferably exactly two holding bodies. The clamping screw can be connected to the clamping lever in a rotationally fixed manner, for example via a hexagon.

In a special design, the clamping band is or can be hung in the clamping band holder. The clamping band is advantageously designed without a through hole intended for a clamping screw. This has the advantage that the side handle can be pre-assembled at the factory and can be mounted on hand-held machine tools whose tool holder has a larger diameter than their machine neck simply by unhooking and re-hooking the clamping band. In the case of side handles of the state of the art, in such circumstances an essentially complete disassembly of the side handle, or at least of the clamping unit, is typically required. The advantageous design of the clamping band holder with a hookable clamping band can save time and therefore also costs during assembly.

It has also proven advantageous if the clamping band holder has a recess set back in the radial direction with a retaining lug, such that instead of the clamping band with a first diameter, a second clamping band with a second diameter different from the first can be suspended. The retaining lug can have a spring contact surface whose curvature is greater than a clamping surface of the clamping band holder that is in contact with the machine neck. Advantageously, one and the same clamping band holder can be used for hand-held machine tools with different machine neck diameters. Advantageously, a system is provided comprising a side handle with a plurality of clamping bands of different diameters, wherein each of the clamping bands can be suspended in one and the same clamping band holder.

In a further preferred embodiment, the clamping band holder has two holding bodies that are coaxial with one another, wherein at least one of the holding bodies can be clamped to one of the cylinder-section-shaped clamping bodies via a cone-hollow cone pairing. A second of the holding bodies can be clamped to a handle end piece of the side handle via a cone-hollow cone pairing. The handle end piece can be formed in one piece with a handle area. The cone-hollow cone pairing can be assigned a cone formed on the second clamping body and/or a hollow cone formed on the first holding body, or vice versa. A cone-hollow cone pairing can be provided between the handle end piece and the second holding body.

The clamping band holder can have, on a side facing the machine neck, at least one surface section which, relative to the remaining part of the clamping holder, has an increased coefficient of friction and/or an increased modulus of elasticity.

Ausführunqsbeispiele:Examples of implementation:

A preferred embodiment of a side handle 100 according to the invention for an electric hand tool 200, for example a hammer drill, is shown in Fig.1 The side handle 100 has a gripping area 10 designed for gripping by a user and a clamping unit 20, by means of which the side handle 100 can be releasably attached to a machine neck 210 of the hand-held power tool 200. The clamping unit 20 has an operating element designed as a clamping lever 15, by means of which the clamping unit 20 can be clamped and released, wherein Fig. 1A the strained state SZ and Fig. 1B shows the relaxed state EZ.

The operating element designed as a clamping lever 15 is flush with the surface, or at least substantially flush with the surface, of the handle area 10 when the clamping unit 20 is in the clamped state SZ. The clamping lever 15 is arranged on the side handle 100 so as to be rotatable about a rotation axis DA with respect to the handle area 10, wherein the rotation axis DA runs perpendicular to a working axis AA of the handheld power tool 200 when the side handle 100 is attached to the handheld power tool 200.

The handle area 10 can consist of or comprise polypropylene, ABS, polyamide or polyurethane, for example. The tension lever 15 can consist of the same material as the handle area 10. The tension lever 15 can consist of or comprise a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE).

The clamping unit 20 of the embodiment of the Fig.1 has two cylindrical section-shaped clamping bodies 21, 23, each of which is oriented coaxially to a clamping screw 25 of the clamping unit 20 running in the axis of rotation DA. As the Fig. 1B can be easily removed, the clamping bodies 21, 23 are designed to be complementary to each other, ie they essentially form a cylinder when they lie on top of each other with a minimum length ( Fig. 1B ), whereby the clamping bodies 21, 23 essentially completely touch each other along the wave profile W. The wave profile W does not necessarily have to have a straight cutting path, but rather, as in the embodiment of the Fig.1 have a partially sinusoidal shape. The clamping lever 15 and the first clamping body 21 can be formed as one piece.

Again Fig.1 can be removed, the clamping unit 20 further comprises a clamping band holder 28 and a clamping band 29 provided for enclosing the machine neck 210. The clamping band holder 28 comprises two coaxial holding bodies 31, 33 to which the clamping band 29 is attached. Both between the second clamping body 23 and the first A crown toothing KR is provided between the first holding body 31 and between the second holding body and a handle end piece 11, which, when the clamping unit is in the Fig. 1A ) shown in the clamped state SZ, prevents rotation of the handle area 10 about the axis of rotation DA. In the clamped state SZ, the clamping bodies 21, 23 are - in relation to Fig. 1B ) are rotated by 180 degrees around the axis of rotation - with maximum length on top of each other. In other words, a rotation of the clamping lever by 180 degrees is sufficient to clamp or release the clamping unit 20. Other shaft profiles are possible.

A second preferred embodiment of a side handle 100 according to the invention is shown in Fig.2 shown. Fig. 2B ) a plan view coaxial to the working axis AA and Fig. 2B ) a section passing through the axis of rotation DA.

The operating element designed as a clamping lever 15 is, when the clamping unit 20 is in the clamped state SZ, flush with the surface, or at least substantially flush with the surface, of the handle area 10. Both Fig. 2A as well as Fig. 2B show the strained state SZ. In addition to the Fig.1 shown clamping lever 15, is on the clamping lever 15 of the embodiment of the Fig.2 a stop 27 is formed, which is designed to be complementary to a counter stop 17 provided on the handle area 10. The stop 27 is formed by a recess at the outer end of the clamping lever 15, which can be seen, for example, from Fig. 4A is clearly visible. The complementary counter stop 17 is formed in one piece with the handle area 10. The stop 27 allows the clamping lever to be turned around the rotation axis in only one direction (in Fig.2 out of the image plane). At the same time, rotation of the clamping lever 15 about the axis of rotation DA is mechanically limited to 360 degrees by the stop 27, here, for example, to less than 360 degrees.

The clamping unit 20 has two clamping bodies 21, 23 in the form of cylinder sections, each of which is oriented coaxially to a clamping screw 25 of the clamping unit 20 that runs along the axis of rotation DA. The first clamping body 21 is located entirely within a volume V of the side handle, whereas the second clamping body 23 - at least in sections in the clamped state SZ - protrudes along the axis of rotation DA beyond the volume V.

The clamping unit 20 of the side handle of the Fig.2 further comprises a clamping band holder 28 and a clamping band 29A, 29B intended to enclose the machine neck 210, wherein the clamping band 29A, 29B is suspended in the clamping band holder 28 and is preferably designed free of a through hole intended for a clamping screw 25. This is shown in Fig. 2B) can be clearly seen. The possibility of attaching the clamping straps 29A, 29B and in particular the omission of any clamping screws 25 Through holes, the clamping straps 29A, 29B can be replaced relatively easily - with the side handle 200 otherwise completely assembled.

The strap holder 28 of the Fig.2 is advantageously formed both a clamping band 29A with a small diameter D1, as well as a clamping band 29B with a large diameter D2. In Fig.2 Both tensioning straps 29A, 29B are shown at the same time to illustrate that both tensioning straps 29A, 29B can be hooked into one and the same tensioning strap holder 28, more precisely into a retaining lug 26 of the tensioning strap holder 26. In use, of course, only one of the tensioning straps 29A, 29B is installed.

The clamping band holder 28 has a recess 24 set back in the radial direction RR with a retaining lug 26, which can be seen in the detailed illustration of the Fig. 3B can be clearly seen. The retaining lug 26 is designed in such a way that, instead of the suspended tensioning band 29A with the first diameter D1, the second tensioning band 29B with the second diameter D2, which is different from the first, can be suspended. For this purpose, the retaining lug 26 has a spring contact surface 22 (cf. Fig. 3A and 3B ), the curvature K1 of which is greater than a curvature K2 of a clamping surface 30 of the clamping band holder 28 in contact with the machine neck 210. Clearly visible in Fig. 3A is how the large diameter clamping band 29B fits snugly against the spring contact surface 22 of the retaining lug 26.

Back to Fig.2 in which it can be clearly seen that the clamping band holder 28 has two holding bodies 31, 33 lying coaxially to one another. A first of the holding bodies 31 can be clamped via a cone-hollow cone pairing 35 with one of the cylinder-section-shaped clamping bodies 23 (which at least in sections in the clamped state SZ, protrudes along the axis of rotation DA beyond the volume V) (see also Fig. 3A ). In the same way, such a cone-hollow cone pairing 35 can be provided between the second holding body 33 and a handle end piece 11. In the embodiment of the Fig.2 the handle end piece 11 is formed in one piece with the handle 10. Alternatively, the handle end piece 11 and the handle can be different parts.

The cone-hollow cone pairing 35, which is associated with a cone 35A formed on the second clamping body 23 and a hollow cone 35B formed on the first holding body 31, will now be described with reference to Fig. 3A will be explained in more detail. The cone-hollow cone pairing 35 enables the handle 10 to be swiveled continuously around the axis of rotation DA. This is in contrast to the embodiment of the Fig.1 Crown toothing KR is provided. The cone-hollow cone pairing 35 enables the clamping unit 20 to be clamped independently of wear, since the force-locking cone-hollow cone pairing 35 automatically adjusts itself in the direction of the axis of rotation DA in the event of wear. As an alternative to a stepless Depending on the configuration of the cone-hollow cone pairing 35, the cone 35A and/or the hollow cone 36B can be bent. For example, the Fig. 4C The clearly visible hollow cone 35B has eight cone flanks 35F.

Fig. 3B shows a holding body 31, 33 as part of the tensioning band holder 28. The recess 24 formed there and the function of the holding lug 26 have already been explained above. The holding body 31, 33 has at least one surface section OF on a side facing the machine neck 210, which, in relation to the remaining part VT of the tensioning band holder 28, has an increased coefficient of friction. For example, the holding body 31, 33 can consist essentially of a comparatively hard ABS plastic and the surface section OF of a comparatively soft thermoplastic elastomer or another rubber-like material. This is to compensate for any tolerances between the machine neck and the tensioning band holder or to increase the friction between these components. Alternatively, a first and second recess can be provided on the ends of the tensioning band 29. A first holding element is positioned through the first recess and a second holding element is positioned through the second recess. Both the first and the second holding element are connected to the tensioning band 29 by a clip mechanism. In addition, each retaining element is made of acrylonitrile butadiene rubber. Acrylonitrile butadiene rubber can also be referred to as nitrile rubber (AB) or nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR).

Fig.4 finally shows detailed views of the side handle 100, with the clamping lever 15 in different rotational positions. Fig. 4A shows the clamped state SZ in which the clamping lever is deflected by 0 degrees and thus the stop 27 formed on the clamping lever rests against the complementary counter stop 17, which is formed in one piece with the handle 10. The second clamping body 23 and the first holding body 31 (as well as the second holding body 33 and the handle end piece 11, which cannot be seen here) lie pressed against one another so that the handle area 10 cannot be rotated about the axis of rotation DA.

Fig. 4B shows the relaxed state SZ in which the clamping lever is deflected by 180 degrees. The second clamping body 23 is spaced apart from the first holding body along the axis of rotation DA. The handle area 10 can be rotated or pivoted about the axis of rotation DA as desired. At the same time, the entire side handle can be rotated or pivoted about the working axis AA of a handheld power tool not shown here. Likewise, the entire side handle cannot be rotated or pivoted about the working axis AA of a handheld power tool not shown here.
