Description

The invention relates to a pack for cigarettes or stick-shaped objects according to the preamble of claim 1.

In practice it can happen for various reasons that the pack sizes or the dimensions of packs for cigarettes are specified, for example for legal, tax or technical reasons. In order to ensure cost-effective production of packs, however, it is desirable that the pack can be filled with different contents with constant (external) dimensions in order to be able to react flexibly to corresponding specifications in different markets without costly retrofitting of the packaging machines would be required. In particular, it is of interest to accommodate a smaller number of cigarettes or groups of cigarettes or rod-shaped objects or groups of rod-shaped objects with smaller dimensions in conventional packs.

From the WO 2016/005914 A1 It is known to provide an inner frame with folding tabs which are partially separated from the inner frame and folded inwardly into the container. A group of cigarettes can be supported on the underside by the areas of the folding tabs created in this way.

The U.S. 3,752,307 describes a pack in which an inner collar is folded along four transverse lines so that two areas are formed inside the pack, one area containing a group of cigarettes and the other area containing matches. A lower side of the cigarette group then rests on the side wall separating the areas.

In the DE 10 2014 222 994 A1 and WO 2016/103208 A1 packs for cigarettes are shown in which a group of cigarettes is laterally supported by a collar or collar parts.

Against this background, the invention is based on the object of further developing packs for cigarettes, in particular with regard to the most advantageous possible accommodation of different pack contents in preferably standardized packs.

A pack to achieve this object has the features of claim 1. In the extension of the collar front wall, at least one bottom flap is arranged, which runs as a support on the underside of the at least one cigarette group or group of rod-shaped objects directed transversely to the collar front wall, so that the collar serves to compensate for at least one different dimension of the cigar group or group of rod-shaped objects .

In this way, the interior space of the box part is reduced with a view to reducing the height of the cigarette block. Since only the adjustment of the collar is preferably required to adapt to the or any smaller dimension, the effort for retrofitting the packaging machines is limited.

To solve the above-mentioned object, it is provided that the bottom flap is articulated to the collar front wall, in particular at a lower edge thereof, and that the bottom flap in its position directed transversely to the collar front wall is supported by at least one bearing element on the collar side walls is held, with bearing projections embossed in the material of the collar side walls serving as a bearing element.

The or each bottom flap is preferably held on two of its opposite side edges by means of bearing projections on the collar side walls.

Furthermore, it can be provided that the or each cigarette group or group of rod-shaped objects has a smaller depth than the interior of the box part, and that this smaller dimension is compensated for by a filler piece that is placed between the or each cigarette group or the or each group of rod-shaped objects and a rear wall of the box part is arranged, it is preferably provided that the filler piece serves as a bearing element for the bottom flap of the collar.

Another special feature can be that a front wall of the filler piece resting on the back of the or each cigarette group or group of rod-shaped objects has a pivotable tab, the bottom tab protruding into an opening formed by the tab in the front wall and being at a horizontal edge the opening is supported.

The above-mentioned object is achieved according to the invention in that the bottom flap is supported on the underside by collar support tabs which are folded out of the plane of the collar side walls into the area below the bottom flap.

In addition, it can be provided that the bottom flap is supported on the underside by blank support flaps which are folded out of the plane of the side walls of the box part into the area below the bottom flap.

Another special feature can be that a support tab is arranged as an extension of the bottom flap and extends transversely to the bottom flap to rest against the rear wall of the box part.

In a preferred development of the invention, it can be provided that the collar side walls are dimensioned such that the collar with the collar side walls stands up on the bottom wall of the box part and the bottom flap is held on the bearing projections in such a way that the or each cigarette group or group stick-shaped objects protruding from the open top part of the box for removing individual cigarettes.

In a preferred embodiment it can be provided that two groups of cigarettes or groups of rod-shaped objects are arranged at a lateral distance from one another in the box part, the cigarette groups or groups of rod-shaped objects being held in their position by walls of the collar, and each cigarette group or group consisting of rod-shaped objects is framed by a collar front wall and two collar side walls, and wherein a spacer is arranged between facing inner collar side walls, and wherein the outer collar side walls facing away from one another rest on side walls of the box part, and each Cigarette group or group of rod-shaped objects is supported on the underside by a (separate) bottom flap, and the bottom flaps are each held by two bearing projections on the inner collar side walls and by a respective bearing projection on the outer collar side walls.

The invention is described below using various exemplary embodiments, each of which relates to a pack 10 of the hinge-lid pack for cigarettes. It is explicitly pointed out that the invention can relate to other types of packs for cigarettes.

The packs 10 shown in the figures consist of a box part 11 and a lid 13 which is pivotably attached in the area of a rear wall 12 of the box part 11. The box part 11 also consists of a (lower) bottom wall 14 and an (upright) front wall 15, which the Rear wall 12 is opposite. Side walls 16, 17 connect rear wall 12 and front wall 15 to one another and are formed from inner and outer side tabs 18, 19 that overlap one another. The cover 13 consists accordingly Front wall 20, rear wall 21, end wall and side walls 22, 23. The side walls 22, 23 of the cover 13 are also formed by overlapping, inner and outer side tabs 24, 25.

Another component of the packs 10 is a collar 26 in a different configuration. The basic components of the collar 26 are, however, always a collar front wall 27 which rests against the front wall 15 of the box part 11 and is optionally connected to it by gluing. Furthermore, the collar 26 includes collar side walls 28 which extend along side walls 16, 17 of the box part 11. An upper region of the collar 26 protruding from the box part 11 is enclosed by the lid 13 in the closed position of the pack 10.

The cuboid pack 10 formed in this way and made of thin cardboard is particularly suitable for holding cigarettes or other stick-shaped objects. The cigarettes are formed as a cigarette group 29 and are surrounded by an inner blank 30, for example made of tinfoil. A cigarette block 31 is thus produced. It is also conceivable that the inner blank 30 is formed from a film-like material so that the cigarette group 29 can be packaged to form a sealing block. In the exemplary embodiments shown, the cigarette group 29 or the cigarette block 31 is essentially cuboid, with a square or rectangular cross section. It goes without saying that the cigarette group 29 or the cigarette block 31 can also have other cross-sectional shapes, for example with a trapezoidal or triangular cross-section. For the sake of linguistic simplification, the terms cigarette group or cigarette block are used synonymously for groups of rod-shaped objects, or rod-shaped objects wrapped in an inner blank 30.

There is a special feature with regard to the dimensions of the cigarette group 29 or the cigarette block 31. The dimensions (width, height, depth) do not correspond at least partially to the corresponding dimensions of the interior of the box part 11 or the pack 10, so that a cavity would be created without countermeasures whereby the The cigarette group 29 or the cigarette block 31 would not be held securely or properly in the box part 11. Correspondingly, at least one dimension of the cigarette group 29 or of the cigarette block 31 is smaller than a corresponding dimension of the interior of the box part 11 or of the pack 10.

If this application is based on the fact that the dimensions (of cigarette group 29 or cigarette block 31 on the one hand and the interior of box part 11 or pack 10 on the other hand) are different, this does not refer to the usual deviations that occur in the course of dimensional and manufacturing tolerances or for the purpose of easy removal of the cigarettes are usually present, but rather about deviations that go beyond this level. The invention relates to deviations in the dimensions that arise from the fact that one or more cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31 are received within the pack 10, which because of the number and / or dimensions of the cigarettes have a smaller volume than in such packs 10 usual, so that there are significant differences in the dimensions which must be compensated for in a suitable manner in order to safely accommodate the cigarette group 29 or the cigarette block 31 in the pack 10 despite the different dimensions.

In the present case, the cigarette groups 29 or the cigarette blocks 31 in all the exemplary embodiments have a lower height than the interior of the box part 11. Accordingly, the cigarettes are shorter than normally usual.

Furthermore, in all the exemplary embodiments, two cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31 are provided in each pack 10 as the pack contents. The cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31 are arranged laterally next to one another, sometimes at a distance from one another. It goes without saying that packs 10 with only one cigarette group 29 or one cigarette block 31 can also be used within the scope of the invention.

In all the exemplary embodiments, the cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31 are each designed to match, i.e. with the same dimensions and cigarette formations. This does not have to be the case either. In particular, different pack contents in the two cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31 are also conceivable.

In the first exemplary embodiment, the collar 26 is provided with a bottom flap 32 which supports the cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31 on the underside. In this way, the lower height of the cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31 is compensated, so that the upper side of the cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31 is, as usual, approximately at the level of the upper side of the collar 26.

The bottom flap 32 is connected in an articulated manner to the collar front wall 27, for example by a line hinge 33, as is also formed between the lid 13 and the box part 11. In this way, the bottom flap 32 extends as an extension of the collar front wall 27 or continues on its underside.

The bottom flap 32 is made by folding a corresponding blank 34 ( Fig. 5 ) educated. The bottom flap 32 is delimited from the collar front wall via the line joint 33. The bottom flap 32 is delimited from the adjacent collar side walls 28 by means of punched cuts 35. The bottom flap 32 is folded by approximately 90 ° with respect to the collar front wall 27 or pivoted about the line hinge 33 so that it extends transversely to the collar front wall 27 in the direction of the rear wall 12 of the box part.

The bottom flap 32 folded in this way is held in the folded position, on the one hand, by bearing projections 36 as bearing elements, which are formed in the collar side walls 28 and, on the other hand, by mounting on a filler piece 37 which is located between the cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31 and the rear wall 12 of the Box part 11 is arranged and a shallower depth of the cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31 compensates.

The bearing projections 36 can be formed by punching and stamping in or on the collar side walls, for example in the form of hollow spherical cap sections which support the bottom flap 32 on the underside. Other bearing elements are also conceivable within the scope of the invention.

The filler piece 37 has an opening 38 for mounting the bottom flap 32. A lower edge of the opening 38 serves as a supporting edge as a further bearing element for the bottom flap 32. The bottom flap 32 rests on the supporting edge and protrudes through the opening 38 in the direction of the rear wall 12 of the box part 11.

The opening 38 itself is formed in the present case by a flap 39 which is delimited laterally and below by punched cuts and is connected on the upper side by a line joint 40 to a front wall 41 of the filler piece 37. Alternatively, it is also conceivable, for example, that the opening 38 is formed entirely by punching.

With the front wall 41, the filler piece 37 rests against the rear side of the cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31. Furthermore, the filler piece 37 has side walls 42 and an end wall 43 which, starting from the front wall 41, extend in the direction of the rear wall 12 of the box part 11. The filler piece 37 has neither a rear wall nor a bottom wall and stands with the side walls 42 on the bottom wall 14 of the box part 11. On the upper side, the filler piece 37 extends to the upper end of the collar 26 and the cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31. Laterally, the side walls 42 rest on the inside of the collar side walls 28.

The filling piece 37 is made by folding a corresponding blank 44 ( Fig. 6 ) made from packaging material. There is a special feature with regard to a top tab 45, which forms the end wall 43 and is secured in the folded position by a plug-in tab 46. For this purpose, plug-in tongues 47 of the plug-in tab 46 are inserted into plug-in slots 48 in the front wall 41. Corner tabs 49 as an extension of the side walls 42 are also held by the plug-in tab 46.

Fig. 4 shows a substantially conventional blank 50 for the pack 10 of the hinge-lid type. A special feature exists with regard to the arrangement of further bearing projections 51 as bearing elements on each inner side tab. These serve to support the collar 26 or the collar side walls 28 on the underside.

Fig. 9 shows a variant of the first exemplary embodiment in which the end wall 43 is not arranged on the upper side at the level of the upper side of the cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31, but rather at the level of the line joint 52 between the box part 11 and the lid 13.

In the second embodiment according to Figures 10 to 16 two cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31 are provided, the width of which is jointly less than the width of the interior of the box part 10. In terms of height, the length of the cigarettes is shorter than usual, corresponding to the first exemplary embodiment.

To compensate for the smaller width of the two cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31, a collar 26 which is designed in a special way and which is formed from several sections or folding tabs is used. Each of the two cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31 is enclosed on three sides by the collar 26, namely in the area of the front wall 15 by a collar front wall 27 and in the area of the side walls 16, 17 by outer collar side walls 28. Furthermore, inner collars -Side walls 53 are provided, which extend along facing side surfaces of the cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31 arranged at a distance from one another. A support member 54, which is formed from a folding tab of the collar 26, is arranged between the two inner collar side walls 53. Furthermore, the two inner collar side walls 32 are connected by a connecting strap 55.

In each case an outer collar side wall 28, a collar front wall 27 and an inner collar side wall 53 form a section 56, 57 of the collar.

The two sections are connected to one another by the connecting strap 55.

The width of the connecting tab 55 corresponds to the width of the support member 54, which is formed by punched cuts 58 from the material of the collar 26 and is connected to an upper end of the connecting tab 55 such that it can pivot about a fold line 59.

During the production of the pack 10, the two cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31 are each wrapped in a section 56, 57 of the collar 26 and the support member 54 is pivoted transversely to the plane of the connecting tab 55. In this configuration, the inner collar side walls 53 rest on the free longitudinal edges of the support member 54 and bridge the distance between the two cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31, so that the smaller common width of the cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31 through the support member 54 of the collar 26 is balanced.

Another special feature is that the support member 54 is arranged in such a way that the consumer cannot see into the distance or space between the two cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31 when the pack is open.

In the present case, the support member 54 is arranged approximately level with a closing edge 60 of the box part 11 and runs essentially horizontally or parallel to the bottom wall 14. The length of the support member 54 corresponds approximately to the corresponding dimension of the collar side walls or the corresponding depth of the Interior of the box part 11, so that the cavity extending in the box part 11 between the two cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31 is covered on the top.

In Fig. 15 it can be seen that the support member 54 is arranged at a slight incline and slopes slightly in the direction of the closing edge 60. Correspondingly, the support member 54 must be made somewhat longer than the depth of the interior of the box part 11. An edge of the support member that is adjacent to the closing edge 60 54 can rest on the inside of the front wall 15 and be held in a frictional and / or form-fitting manner.

Another special feature relates to the arrangement of otherwise customary recesses 61 in the area of an upper side of the collar 26 for the removal of cigarettes. These recesses 61 each extend over corners in the area of the collar front walls 27 and the inner collar side walls 53 adjoining them.

To support the cigarette groups 29 or cigarette blocks 31, as in the first exemplary embodiment, a bottom flap 62 is arranged as an extension of the collar front wall 27, which in turn is supported by bearing projections 51 on the collar side walls 28, 53. The bottom tabs 62 are each supported by two bearing projections 51 on the inner collar side walls 53 and by a bearing projection 51 on the outer collar side walls 28.

In contrast to the first exemplary embodiment, a filler piece is missing, so that the bottom flaps 62 extend continuously to the rear wall 12 of the box part 11. A support flap 63 rests against this, which then extends up to the bottom flap 62 and, folded by 90 ° relative to it, extends in the direction of the bottom wall 14 of the box part 11.

The collar 26 rests with the inner collar side walls 53 on the bottom wall 14 of the box part, whereas the outer collar side walls 28 are supported by means of bearing projections 51 in the area of the inner side tabs of the side walls 16, 17 of the box part, as in the first embodiment.

As in the first exemplary embodiment, the collar 26 can be fastened by means of glue (dots) 64 to the inside of the front wall 15 and / or the rear wall 12 and / or the side walls 16, 17 of the box part 11.

Fig. 13 shows a corresponding blank 65 for such a collar 26.

The third and last embodiment according to Figures 17 to 19 is essentially comparable to the first exemplary embodiment. However, there is a difference with regard to the lateral support of the bottom flap 32. This is not done via embossed bearing projections 51, as in the first two exemplary embodiments, but via support tabs 66, which are formed at the lower end of the collar side walls 28 and can be pivoted so that they are located below the bottom flap 32 and support it.

Furthermore, corresponding support tabs 67 are also provided on the inner side tabs of the side walls 16, 17, which are pivoted accordingly and thus support the collar 26 overall on the underside. In this way, the collar 26 is secured in its position and does not have to be guided as far as the bottom wall 14 of the box part 11. However, it would also be conceivable to dispense with the support tabs 66 and to guide the collar 26 as far as the bottom wall 14.

Fig. 20 shows that the pivoted support tabs 66, 67 lie against one another laterally and are arranged in a corresponding position on the collar 26 and the side walls 16, 17.

Claims (13)

1. The pack as claimed in claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the or each cigarette group (29) or group of rod-shaped objects comprises a shallower depth than the interior of the box part (11), and in that said smaller dimension is compensated for by a filling piece (37) which is arranged between the or each cigarette group (31) or group of rod-shaped objects and a rear wall (12) of the box part (11) .
4. The pack as claimed in claim 3 or in one of the other preceding claims, characterized in that the filling piece (37) serves as bearing element for the bottom flap (32) of the collar (26).
5. The pack as claimed in claim 3 or 4, characterized in that a front wall (41) of the filling piece (37), abutting against the rear side of the or each cigarette group (29) or group of rod-shaped objects, comprises a pivotable flap (39), wherein the bottom flap (32) projects into an opening (38) formed by the flap in the front wall (41) and is supported on a horizontal edge of the opening (38).
6. The pack as claimed in claim 1 or in one of the other preceding claims, characterized in that the bottom flap (62) is supported at the bottom by blank support tabs (67) which are folded out of the plane of the side walls (16, 17) of the box part (11) into the region below the bottom flap (62).
7. The pack as claimed in claim 1 or in one of the other preceding claims, characterized in that a support flap (63), which extends directed transversely to the bottom flap (62) for abutment against the rear wall (12) of the box part (11), is arranged as an extension of the bottom flap (62).

The pack as claimed in claim 7 or in one of the other preceding claims, characterized in that collar side walls (53) are dimensioned in such a manner that the collar (26) stands upright with the collar side walls (53) on the bottom wall (14) of the box part (12) and the bottom flap (62) is held in such a manner at the bearing projections (51) that the or each cigarette group (29) or group of rod-shaped objects projects out of the upwardly open box part (11) for the removal of individual cigarettes.

The pack as claimed in claim 6 or in one of the other preceding claims, characterized in that two cigarette groups (29) or groups of rod-shaped objects are arranged in the box part (11) at a lateral distance from one another, wherein the cigarette groups (29) or groups of rod-shaped objects are held in their position by walls of the collar (26), and wherein each cigarette group (29) or group of rod-shaped objects is surrounded by a collar front wall (27) and in each case two collar side walls (28, 53), and wherein a spacer (54) is arranged between inner collar side walls (53) which face one another, and wherein the outer collar side walls (28) which are remote from one another abut against side walls (16, 17) of the box part (11), and wherein each cigarette group (29) or group of rod-shaped objects is supported on the underside by a (separate) bottom flap (62), and wherein the bottom flaps (62) are each held by two bearing projections (51) on the inner collar side walls (53) and in each case by one bearing projection (51) on the outer collar side walls (28).
10. The pack as claimed in claim 9 or in one of the other preceding claims, characterized in that outer collar side walls (28) are held by bearing projections (51) which are formed on the side walls (16, 17) of the box part (11).

The pack as claimed in claim 3 or in one of the other preceding claims, characterized in that the filling piece (37) is formed from a folded blank (44) produced from packing material and comprises a front wall (41), an upper end wall (45) and side walls (42) and in particular does not comprise a rear wall or a bottom wall, and wherein the height of the filling piece (37) corresponds substantially to the corresponding dimension of the box part (11) so that the filling piece (37) stands upright on a bottom wall (14) of the box part (11), and wherein the pivotable flap (39) for forming an opening (38) with the bearing projection for the bottom flap (62) is realized in the front wall (41) of the filling piece (37).
12. The pack as claimed in claim 1 or in one of the other preceding claims, characterized in that the bottom flap (32, 62) extends substantially over the entire width of the interior of the box part (11) below the or each cigarette group (29) or group of rod-shaped objects.
13. The pack as claimed in claim 1 or in one of the other preceding claims, characterized in that the bottom flap (32) extends substantially over the entire depth of the interior of the box part (11) between the front wall (15) of the box part (11) and the rear wall (12) of the same or of the front wall (41) of the filling piece (37).
