Description

The invention relates to an applicator for applying cosmetic material with a wedge-shaped carrier body, which is provided with a coating of flock fibers.

Applicators for applying cosmetic material per se are known and are used for applying liquid, pasty or solid cosmetic material. Typically, such applicators have a grip element for handling by the user and an applicator element for the actual application of cosmetic material. In the case of the so-called flock applicators, the applicator element has a carrier body which is coated with flock fibers (also called flock for short).

EP 1 920 677 A1 discloses an applicator for applying cosmetic material having the features of the preamble of claim 1. EP 0 965 286 A1 describes other applicators.

The invention has for its object to provide a multifunctional applicator, which allows both an accurate and simple application of the cosmetic material as well as a structuring of the flock fibers.

The object is achieved by an applicator with the features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments are described in the subclaims.

The inventive applicator for applying cosmetic material with a wedge-shaped carrier body is provided with a coating of flock fibers. The carrier body has a front side, a rear side and two side surfaces. The front and the back each have a flat partial surface. The flat partial surfaces are mirror-symmetrical to each other. The two partial surfaces each have an outer edge in the form of an eight-way curve.

An eighth curve is a curve that essentially has the shape of an eight. Synonyms would be Eight or Eight. In essence, the figure-eight curve has a central waisted portion and end portions arcuate in shape.

Due to the flat partial surfaces, which are mirror-symmetrical to each other, the carrier body of the applicator has areas that can be pressed against each other well. Therefore, the applicator of the invention is very well suited for structuring the flock fibers in this area (i.e., in the area of the flat partial areas). Such structuring can be carried out in particular by means of a stamping, embossing, printing or embossing flock process. In these methods, pressure is generally applied to the flocked carrier body and the flock fibers applied to the carrier body are, for example, depressed and / or colored or structured in a similar manner.

Due to the outer edge of the partial surfaces in the form of an eight-way curve, the carrier body of the applicator receives an outer shape with relatively wide end regions and a waisted middle region. Such an outer shape is particularly suitable for applying cosmetic material. In particular, the user can adapt the order of the cosmetic material, for example, well to the facial contour by this curved or curved shape.

Overall, the shape of the applicator according to the invention thus enables both an exact and simple application of the cosmetic material and a structuring of the flock fibers.

Advantageously, the figure-eight curve has a first arcuate end region facing the pointed end of the carrier body, a waisted middle region and a second arcuate end region facing the wide end of the carrier body. As a result, the applicator has a relatively wide tip and a waisted middle region, which is particularly well suited for applying cosmetic material.

Embodiments in which the first end portion of the figure-eight curve is formed bent circular and the second end portion of the figure 8 curve is formed oval shaped, the ratio of the smallest width in the waisted central region to the largest width in the first end region is about 1: 6 and / or the ratio of smallest width in the waisted central region to the largest width in the second end region is about 1: 4, have proven to be particularly advantageous. By the above-mentioned features, on the one hand, a particularly application-friendly outer shape of the applicator is possible and, on the other hand, the applicator acquires a stability which enables structuring in the region of the flat partial surfaces. In addition, a relatively large flat partial surface is possible, so that the structured areas of the flock fibers can occupy a relatively large proportion of the flock fiber coating.

In particular, at least one partial area with depressed flock fibers and at least one partial area with upstanding flock fibers may be present on the planar partial area. As a result, a varied design of Flockfaserüberzuges possible. The depressed flock fibers can hereby on the one hand a reservoir for the male form cosmetic material and on the other influence the visual appearance of the coating (eg embossing or embossing flock of patterns, signatures, logos, logotypes, ornaments).

According to the invention, a depression is formed within the planar partial surface. In a particularly advantageous manner, the depression is formed in a circular manner in the region of the flat partial surface facing the tip end of the carrier body. This depression can serve as a reservoir for the cosmetic material. The amount of cosmetic material that can be applied with the applicator is increased in this way.

In a particularly advantageous manner, the depression has a flat base surface, which runs parallel to the flat partial surface. In this way, the flock fibers in the well can be well structured.

Preferably, a connecting element for connecting the carrier body with a holder or handle is formed at the wide end of the carrier body. This allows a reliable connection of the carrier body with a holder, so that the user can use the applicator safely and comfortably.

Claims (10)

1. Applicator (1) for applying cosmetic material, with a wedge-shaped support body (2) provided with a covering (3), wherein:

   - the support body (2) has a front face (5), a rear face (6) and two side faces (7);

   - the front face (5) and the rear face (6) each have a plane surface part (8);

   - the plane surface parts (8) are configured with mirror symmetry to each other; and

   - the two surface parts (8) each have an outer edge in the form of a figure-of-eight curve,

   characterized in that the covering is composed of flock fibres and a depression (12) is formed inside the plane surface part.
2. Applicator according to Claim 1, wherein the figure- of-eight curve has a first arch-shaped end region (9) facing towards the pointed end of the support body, a narrowed middle region (10), and a second arch-shaped end region (11) facing towards the broad end of the support body.
3. Applicator according to Claim 2, wherein the first end region (9) of the figure-of-eight curve is shaped as a circular arch and the second end region (11) of the figure-of-eight curve is shaped as an oval arch.
4. Applicator according to either of Claims 2 and 3, wherein the ratio of the smallest breadth in the narrowed middle region (10) to the greatest breadth in the first end region (9) is ca. 1:6.
5. Applicator according to one of Claims 2 to 4, wherein the ratio of the smallest breadth in the narrowed middle region (10) to the greatest breadth in the second end region (11) is ca. 1:4.
6. Applicator according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the depression (12) has a plane base surface running parallel to the plane surface part (8).
7. Applicator according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the depression (12) is formed in the region of the plane surface part (8) facing towards the pointed end of the support body (2).
8. Applicator according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the depression (12) has the shape of a circle.
9. Applicator according to one of the preceding claims, wherein a connection element (4) for connecting the support body (2) to a holder or stem is formed at the broad end of the support body (2).
10. Applicator according to one of the preceding claims, wherein at least one subregion with pressed-down flock fibres and at least one subregion with raised flock fibres are present on the plane surface part (8).
