Description

The present invention relates to a bracket for weather bars on door or window profiles and their use. On the lower structural end edge of window sashes, doors and frame profiles, weatherstrips are horizontally attached longitudinal elements and outward-sloping profile elements that are shaped into a drip edge on the outside. They should drain the rainwater so that it cannot penetrate the space between the lower frame profile and the window sill. This function is important above all as protection against driving rain.

HINTERGRUNDBACKGROUND

Conventionally, weatherstrips are not manufactured as part of a window and door frame, but as separately attached parts. The reason for this is that the weatherboard as a projecting part on the frame would enlarge the frame profile itself, which makes handling during manufacture and on site assembly difficult. In addition, depending on the design of the window itself, different weatherboard profiles are required, which are easier and cheaper to manufacture than different variants of the window frame profile. Of course, this creates the need to design the connection of the weatherboard to the frame profile so that the assembly effort remains low without restricting the versatility.

STAND DER TECHNIKSTATE OF THE ART

Solutions for weatherboard profiles are known in the prior art which engage in a form-fitting and force-fitting manner in a receptacle provided on the frame. The DE-A 196 09 681 shows, for example, such a solution, in which the receptacle on the frame is designed as two parallel webs arranged parallel to the frame. The connecting element attached to the weatherboard has a fork-shaped structure with two resilient elements or legs. The connecting element of the weatherboard is inserted into the space between the webs in such a way that the tongues lie against the inner wall of the web and thus ensure the non-positive and positive connection. The tongues, viewed together in cross section, have a rounded to circular profile, thus in the longitudinal direction of the profile an at least sectionally cylindrical appearance. On the one hand, this facilitates the introduction of the fork-shaped connecting element into the space between the webs and furthermore allows a certain angular adjustability in the installed state. Locking profiles in the connecting element and / or the web inner walls can make it easier to maintain certain angles between the weatherboard and the frame profile.

The document WO 2013/113914 A2 describes thresholds between an outside and an inside area that different variants of weather bars can use. A variant of this uses a holder with a connecting element of circular cross-section, which can be rotated in a type of pan. Falling out of this cylinder element is prevented by an insertable latch. On the other hand, the bracket is screwed to the threshold, a profile element.

The DE 39 10 647 A1 shows a weatherboard, the rounded or bevelled long side engages in a hollow cylindrical holder and is rotatably mounted there. The bracket is glued or screwed to or in the profile frame.

In both cases, attaching the weatherboard requires an additional preparatory operation, which enables the bracket to be attached to the profile frame (here: gluing, screwing). The object of the invention is therefore to design the holder in such a way that it can use existing or mandatory components or structures and the assembly is thus simplified.

BESCHREIBUNG DER ERFINDUNGDESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The present invention achieves this object by using a part of the water slots or bores which are present repeatedly in each profile frame for the discharge of condensed water as anchoring points, as described in the main claim.
The dependent claims show further developments or features of the invention.

In a first step, the connection function is transferred to a separate component, a holder 10. Specifically, this holder thus becomes a connecting component between a frame profile 12 (for example a window or a door) and the weather leg 11. Both the weather leg and the frame profile have receptacles for this purpose which are specifically designed for connecting elements 20, 30. The advantage achieved thereby is that a weather leg or weather leg type can thus be connected to a plurality of differently shaped frame profiles via different brackets, because only different coupling elements are required in each case.

In contrast to the prior art described, the connection no longer takes place over the entire length of the weatherboard, but via the coupling elements which are only arranged in sections.

Such a bracket 10 is designed for the connection of a weather leg 11 to a profile frame 12. Two connecting elements 20, 30 oriented in opposite directions are designed such that the first connecting element 20 in the connected (assembled) state permits a rotational movement about an axis and the second connecting element 30 only enables a rigid connection. The term “opposite to each other” means that the connecting elements or their receptacles point in opposite directions for the components to be connected. This can mean, for example, in diametrical directions, but also includes laterally (parallel) offset directions.

The holder 10 is designed such that the first connecting element 20 has an essentially circular cross section 21 in the connecting region. By "connection area" is meant that part of the connection element which has been designed for contact with the weather bar. This is also explained below with reference to the figures. By "essentially circular" is meant designs, whose envelope or cross section can be approximated by a circle. This also means circular partial elements, for example fork-shaped or beak-shaped elements, the tines of which form a circle with gaps in the outer line in the outer contour or in cross section.

In a further development of the invention, the second connecting element 30 of the holder 10 is essentially hook-shaped 31. In this case, the shape of a hook means the design familiar to the person skilled in the art, which consists of a component which is designed in the form of a rod and kinks at an angle. In the present part, the kinking part is designed to be inserted into an opening and to anchor it in an undercut behind the opening.

As an alternative to the hook-shaped design, in a further embodiment of the invention the second connecting element 30 of the holder 10 can be designed essentially in the form of a pin 32. The term cone-shaped means an essentially compact construction. In cross section, the pin can preferably be made round, but it could also be polygonal. The pin is then inserted through a suitable opening in the profile frame 12.

In a further embodiment, the second connecting element 30 of the holder 10 can have an essentially cylindrical shape 22 and have clamping, latching or holding elements on its outer surface. Clamping elements mean components that are designed to be slightly larger than the diameter of the bore to be used and can be forcefully inserted into the opening provided and achieve a clamp fit there. Locking elements are self-locking, rib-like elements whose functionality is known from the prior art.

In a particularly preferred embodiment of the holder 10, the connecting element 30 is made in two parts and can be spread out in the assembly position by a locking pin 34. The preferred technical implementation is in Figures 7 and 8 shown. The two-part design of the locking element can be realized, for example, as a split cylinder stump. The locking pin is a component attached to the bracket or to be inserted (separately) during assembly, which is inserted (inserted, driven) between the two parts of the connecting element and there can push apart or spread apart the preferably resilient parts of the connecting element. For this purpose, the locking pin 34 can be designed as a bar-shaped or pin-shaped element and have a slight wedge shape. The introduction can preferably be done with an impact tool or done manually. Alternatively, the parts of the connecting element can form a wedge-shaped slot between them and the locking pin is essentially plate-shaped. During assembly, the connecting element is inserted through a suitable hole / opening in the profile frame 12 and spreads, for example, by driving in the locking pin in the cavity located behind the opening. As a result, the bracket 10 is anchored to the profile frame 12.

In a further preferred embodiment of the holder 10 with locking pin 34, said locking pin 34 is integrally produced in the manufacture of the holder 10 and connected to the holder via predetermined breaking points. With a version in plastic, the holder can thus advantageously be produced in one operation by injection molding. In a preferred embodiment, which is further below in Figure 7 is shown, the locking pin is molded onto the holder in such a way that it comes loose at the predetermined breaking points by being pushed in during the assembly process and reaches the gap between the two-part connecting element and spread the two parts there.

According to the invention, in a further embodiment, the holder 10 is designed such that at least one support surface 33 for load transmission is present in the effective area of the second connecting element 30. “In the area of effect” means on the one hand those parts of the holder that can be assigned to the connecting element, but also those parts of the component connected via the holder, here the weather leg 11 or the profile frame 12. “In the area of effect” therefore refers on the assemblies or surfaces or structures that are or can be functionally involved in the mounting effect.
The first connecting element provides for anchoring to the profile frame 12. For the absorption of pressure loads, it is advantageous to provide defined support surfaces, supports, which ensure that the holder 10 is properly flat.

Furthermore, it is advantageous to design the holder 10 such that components 23 such as stops for limiting the rotary movement are provided or formed in the effective area of the first connecting element 20. This limitation of the angle of rotation between the bracket 10 and the weatherboard 11 allows connection to parts of the building or the like.

In addition, in the area of action of the first connecting element 20, components such as catches, clamps or surface roughening can be used to define the rotation angle in a defined manner to be appropriate. As an alternative or in addition, a weather leg 11 can be produced with a corresponding preload in the clamping area.

The holder according to the invention is preferably made of plastic, in particular thermoplastics, fiber-reinforced plastics or material mixtures of plastic with other additives. The preferred method is plastic injection molding.

As mentioned in the introduction, the holder 10 according to the invention is used for fastening or connecting weather legs 11 to profile frames 12 of windows or doors. The bracket is arranged between the profile frame 12 and the weather leg 11, that is to say it is connected to both components after assembly via the interfaces defined by the connecting elements. On the side of the profile frame 12, the holder 10 is used, for example by anchoring it in an opening made there by the second connecting element 30. A preferred method of anchoring is hooking into a water slot. A water slot here means an opening that is often provided as standard in the profile frame and serves for the drainage of condensate and dripping water from the frame profile. These are provided redundantly on the outside of the frame and are therefore not or only partially blocked by individual holders 10, so that the drainage function is retained. As a result, it is also not necessary to provide separate anchoring holes in the profile.
Alternatively, a connection or anchoring according to the invention can be achieved by snapping into a hole or cutout 15. If it turns out to be necessary or advantageous, special mounting points such as bores or cutouts (i.e. non-circular openings) can of course also be implemented and used to hold the connecting elements. On the weather leg side, the holder 10 is used in that the weather leg 11 is pushed onto the first connecting element 20 of the holder 10 and can then be angularly adjusted relative to one another.

The features of the invention disclosed in the above description, in the drawings and in the claims can be essential for realizing the invention both individually and in any, but technically meaningful or advantageous, combination. A non-explicit representation of a combination of features does not mean that such a combination is not useful or not possible. Conversely, a common presentation of features does not mean that there is a structural and / or functional connection between the features in every case.

BESCHREIBUNG DER FIGURENDESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES

The Figures 1 and 2 show brackets 10 in the installed state, which are connected on the frame side with a profile 12 and on the other side with a weather bar 11. In both figures, several possible positions of the weather leg 11 are indicated, which result from the rotational mobility about the first connecting element 20. The rigid connection through the second connecting element 30 is "hook-shaped" in the variants Figure 1 and in the "cone-shaped" variant in Figure 2 shown.
Figure 3 shows a holder 10 in a side view, wherein the first connecting element 20 is oriented to the left and the second connecting element 30 to the right. The illustration shows the embodiment with the essentially hook-shaped design 31 of the second connecting element 30. The first connecting element 20 can easily be recognized by its shape 21 which is cylindrical in cross section. The distance D marks the receiving area for the profile wall, in which the holder 10 engages in the assembled state.
Figure 4 shows the holder 10 in a perspective view from the profile side (second connecting element 30). Here, the support surface 33 is also designated.
Figure 5 shows the holder 10 in a perspective view from the weatherboard side (first connecting element 20).
Figure 6 shows a weatherboard 11 in cross section. Feature 24 denotes the receiving area for the cylindrical first connecting element 20 of the holder 10. The stop elements or components for limiting the angle of rotation are designated by 23; the function is obvious Figure 1 and 2 ,
Figures 7 to 9 show a holder 10 with a second connecting element in the form of a pin 32 in a perspective top view from the front ( Figure 7 ), from behind ( Figure 8 ) and in cross section ( Figure 9 ). In Figure 7 can be seen the locking pin 34 in a preferred embodiment. During assembly, it can be driven in by a narrow hammer or screwdriver in the direction of the attached profile, breaking off along the predetermined breaking point (s) 35 and then expanding the connecting element. In this case, the connecting element 20 is made in two parts and is shown here with a wedge-shaped constriction, which causes the expansion. In Figure 9 this is clearly recognizable once again.
