Definitions
- the invention relates to the field of further processing of precursors (in particular of printed products in the context of print finishing). It relates to a method and an apparatus for producing collections of printed products.
- the invention further relates to a device for carrying out the method.
- direct mailing has long been known for activities in which advertising leaflets, brochures, flyers, printed sheets, samples and the like, as they were often used for advertising purposes as supplements of a newspaper or magazine attached (plugged), by several advertisers be collected in order to make a variety of collections, each containing a print product from a variety of advertisers and in the form of a small stack to the recipient (eg households) are delivered and distributed.
- the EP 0952006 A2 shows a process for the production of printed mail, a wrapper, a device for the production of the wrapper as well as methods for the production of the wrapper.
- the application discloses the packaging of printed items by a perfect wrapping with a specially cut as a packaging material sheet of paper or plastic, so a specific packaging product. Such a single sheet is to be cut for example with a cutting unit and then folded, with folded edges folded edges can be connected to each other by means of adhesive.
- the DE 41 31 277 C1 shows a method and a device suitable for this, with which a packaged goods can be combined with a special packaging blank. Shown is a device in which a packaged product passes from a first feed device to a second feed device.
- the second feed device has a lower belt, which is guided on one side over a roller.
- a pressure device which has a pinch roller and a guide element, an articulation of the package blank be effected to the roll to lead the package blank in different ways to the packaged goods.
- the packaged goods shown must have a relatively high structural rigidity.
- the WO 201 2/084494 A2 shows a method for assembling a stack of loosely stacked precursors, the assembling of such precursors and an apparatus for producing such compilations.
- the stack to be assembled from loosely superposed precursors is provided and in a second step a connecting element is attached to a stacking edge of the stack such that it overlaps the two outer precursors of the stack in an adhesive manner.
- This method provides a secure packaging for a variety of applications, but requires special fasteners.
- the non-prepublished European patent application no. 15001321.7 was submitted on 05.05.2015 on behalf of Ferag AG and shows a device for the production of collections from a variety of different printed products.
- a part of the printed products is used as a packaging element, in which the other printed products are taken.
- handle units can be generated, which can be easily removed from a distributor manually from a transport container.
- this method does not require any special additional packaging means, such as films or tapes. This can reduce the cost of manufacturing reduced by collections and reduce the amount of waste generated.
- the said patent application shows several methods and devices for the production of such collections.
- An embodiment of a suitable handling device has a brush roll with bristles bent in the direction of rotation, which deflects a section of a packaging element, which was previously brought partially under an intermediate stack (eg from publications), approximately at right angles to the top. This packaging section is bent back in a subsequent step on the intermediate stack as soon as the packaging element and the intermediate stack enter the space between two conveyor belts.
- Such a transfer device is suitable for a particular group of transfer products and intermediate stacks, but in some circumstances may be difficult to control with relatively thin and soft intermediate stacks in combination with thick and stiff envelopes.
- Another handling device shown in the aforementioned application has rod-shaped drivers, which are rotated about an axis of rotation oriented transversely to the direction of movement of the unit of intermediate stack and packaging element. These drivers additionally perform an oscillating movement transversely to the conveying direction, which may require a relatively complex and / or maintenance-intensive mechanism or control.
- the WO 2008/074325 A1 shows a method for wrapping a stack of sheets, brochures or the like, in which the stacks are transported at a distance in a row on a transport path.
- a wrapping sheet is withdrawn from a stored sheet supply and vertically in a gap between two successive stacks positioned.
- the swivel wheel provides means that fold the sheet around the stack moving past. The complicated movement of the swivel wheel prevents a high processing speed of the stack.
- the second precursor is not a typical, specially provided packaging material (such as a film or a special paper sheet), as will be explained in more detail below.
- the second and first precursors may be similar in one embodiment of the method, whereby the second precursor, in contrast to the known from the prior art method is not a special or specific packaging product.
- the second precursor may comprise a printed product having a fold, stitching or binding.
- the second precursor comprises a printed product having a fold, a stitching or a binding, wherein the fold (or the stitching or the binding) is aligned in the Umtsche ein substantially perpendicular to the edge region of the first precursor.
- the fold or the stitching or the binding
- the second precursor comprises a printed product having a fold, a stitching or a binding, wherein the fold (or the stitch or the binding) is aligned in the Umtschegna substantially parallel to the edge region of the first precursor. In this way, bumps or kinks in the fold, stapling or binding can be avoided.
- the second precursor is provided as a section of a paper or film web (hereinafter also referred to as "web").
- the web is a single-ply web.
- the web is a multilayer web, in particular a folded and / or folded web.
- the paper or film web can be unwound from a roll.
- the paper or film web is processed between the roll and the point at which the second precursor is in the turn-over position.
- the web is printed on a printing machine and wound on a roll. Then the train will be back unwound from the roll and a second precursor is provided as a section of the web.
- the web is printed with a printing press and a second precursor is provided as a section of this web without the web being wound up on a roll therebetween.
- the second precursor is cut from the web before it is conveyed to the transhipment position.
- second precursors can be promoted with particularly high speeds in the Umtschegna and thus the cycle times are shortened.
- the second precursor is cut from the web after it has been conveyed to the transhipment position. In this way, the promotion and alignment of the second precursor can be simplified.
- the web is printed with a digital printing press.
- a digital press By using a digital press If necessary, a web can be produced with sections of different second precursors. In this way, for example, collections can be easily produced with individualized envelopes.
- the second precursors can be personalized advertising products whose contents are aimed at a specific recipient or a specific group of recipients.
- a second precursor may alternatively or in addition also include a personal addressing to a recipient or to a recipient group.
- a recipient group may e.g. be formed from the inhabitants of a geographical region, a city, a village or a district or a building.
- the first and second precursors may be e.g. a collection of single-layer or multi-layered printed products of the same or different sizes. On or under or between the printed products, one or more samples may be arranged as needed.
- the first and / or the second precursor can also be used e.g. individual products, such as individual printed products.
- the edge region may be, for example, a region of a leading edge of the first precursor. If the first precursor comprises a plurality of printed products, at least part of these printed products may be arranged such that they have a preferred edge and the preferred edges together form the edge region.
- a reliable and robust method results when the first intermediate product is conveyed, at least with a partial surface lying on a conveyor table, against the second intermediate product located in the envelope position.
- a conveyor table can at least support the promotion of the first precursor against the second precursor present in the transhipment position by supporting it so that it retains its shape.
- the conveyor table can also be designed so that it supports the initiation of the handling process or initiates this itself, as will be explained in more detail below.
- the conveyor table the first precursor, e.g. hold and / or lead and / or accompany.
- the conveyor table can press, for example, with an edge against the present in the turnover position second precursor and deform this.
- This makes it possible, inter alia, to combine a large number of combinations of first and second precursors of different dimensions, weights and stiffnesses into collections, without the method or a device carrying out this method having to be substantially adapted to the nature of the preliminary products.
- the necessary effort for set-up operations can be minimized so that the production downtime can be reduced.
- the first precursor comprises a stack of individual printed products.
- Such printed products may be, for example, advertising leaflets, brochures, magazines, flyers or printed sheets.
- a corresponding stack may also contain other precursors, such as samples.
- the inventive method allows in comparison to the methods known from the prior art, the processing of stacks, which consist of a plurality of printed products or other objects with widely divergent dimensions. Stacks formed from such articles often have neither a regular cuboid shape nor well-known mechanical properties, making their processing impossible with many methods known in the art.
- the first precursor comprises a plurality of printed products having a preferred edge and the printed products are stacked such that their preferred edges together form a stack edge that represents the edge region.
- the individual printed products when hand gripping the collection are particularly well secured against slipping out of the collection.
- Particularly well handleable collections can be achieved if at least some of the individual printed products have a fold, a stitching or a binding and are stacked so that the folds or bonds form the edge region around which the second precursor turned becomes. In this way, among other things, the risk can be reduced that individual printed products fall by hand gripping the collection of the collection out.
- a folded and / or stapled and / or glued edge can also be called bundle.
- some of the printed products are to be arranged with their collar on the opposite side of the edge region in order to achieve a more uniform thickness of the first precursor.
- the method can be taken as preferred edges of the printed products such edges, which are arranged on the opposite side of the collar. Such an edge can also be called a flower. If several or all printed products of the first precursor have such a flower, these printed products with the flowers can be stacked on top of one another so that the edge region is formed from the flowers. In another embodiment of this method, some of the printed products are to be arranged with their flower on the opposite side of the edge region in order to achieve a more uniform thickness of the first precursor.
- At least some of the printed products have frets and are arranged stacked so that the frets together form a stacking edge, which is arranged on the opposite side of the edge region of the first precursor, as will be explained in more detail below.
- Such an embodiment of the method may be advantageous, for example, if the first precursor has printed products differing from one another Dimensions, as this can be the thickness of the edge portion can be reduced, which favors the turning of the first precursor.
- At least some of the printed products have flowers and are arranged stacked so that the flowers together form a stacking edge which is arranged on the side of the first precursor opposite the edge region.
- Nx 1,2,3 ! of the N individual print products
- the second precursor is formed from the x remaining individual print products becomes.
- x 1.
- the handled second precursor can be thicker and / or stiffer than the first precursor, without the handling process being difficult to control, as is partially the case in the prior art Technique known method is the case.
- Particularly clean-handled collections can be achieved if the first precursor and the second precursor are moved through a stacking device after the introduction of the transfer operation, in which a first part surface of an outer surface of the second precursor and a first side of the first precursor, and a second part surface of Outer surface of the second precursor and a second side of the first precursor are placed together.
- a particularly well-defined overturning can be achieved if the second precursor is temporarily clamped in a first and a second clamping region during the initiation of the turnover process and / or during the subsequent handling operation, so that the edge region of the first precursor is initiated during the initiation of the turnover process the Umschlagevorgang - lies between the first and second clamping region, as will be explained in more detail below.
- the second precursor can be positioned particularly precisely to the first precursor.
- a folded edge can also be brought into the second intermediate product - in particular if an edge of a conveyor table lies in front of the edge region of the first intermediate product when the transfer operation is initiated.
- a further embodiment is characterized in that the first and the second partial surface are different, that is, the second intermediate product is not handled in half. If a collection produced in this way is laid flat with the larger upper surface facing upwards, then the weight of this larger partial surface prevents the folded-over second intermediate product from being unfolded. As a result, in certain cases (if desired) can be dispensed with further fastening means.
- the necessary ratio between the first and second partial area, which prevents a refolding of the second precursor is dependent on a plurality of properties of the first and / or second precursor-in particular on the stiffness and the weight of the second precursor and the thickness of the first precursor.
- the first partial area amounts to two thirds (2/3) and the second partial area amounts to one third (1/3) of the outer area. It has been found that such a relationship between first and second partial surfaces makes it possible to efficiently and stably prevent the unfolding of a large number of collections of different first and second precursors and, at the same time, collections produced by such a method can also be conveniently and safely handled manually. Thus, on a device which executes such a configuration of a method, different collections can be obtained generate, without the device must be significantly adapted to each of these.
- Yet another embodiment of the method according to the invention is characterized in that the first precursor is conveyed in a conveying plane. As a result, in particular with relatively thick and / or unstable first precursors, this gentle conveyance can be achieved.
- a particularly advantageous turnover of the second precursor can be achieved if the first precursor is conveyed in a conveying plane and the second precursor is oriented substantially perpendicular to the conveying plane of the first precursor at the initiation of the turnover process.
- the second precursor is grooved prior to the turnover process to facilitate the turnover process. Multiple creasing or embossing is possible.
- At least part of an outer surface of the second precursor may be moistened prior to the transfer operation to facilitate the transfer operation.
- a further embodiment of the method according to the invention is characterized in that, prior to the initiation of the transfer operation, an adhesive is applied to one of the partial surfaces of the second precursor and / or to a surface of the first precursor covered by one of the partial surfaces is applied.
- the second precursor can be temporarily held in the envelope position by a stop.
- the position of the transfer point can be influenced and / or a synchronization between the delivery of the first and the second precursors can be simplified.
- a device for carrying out such a method generally comprises a first conveying device for the second intermediate product, which conveys the second intermediate product into the envelope position. Likewise, it comprises a second conveying device for the first intermediate product, which feeds the first intermediate product for initiating the turnover process with an edge region ahead against the second intermediate product located in the turnover position.
- the first conveying device and the second conveying device are synchronized with one another.

If necessary, such a piecing device also effect a targeted compression of the collections to be produced.
- a particularly simple type of piecing apparatus can be achieved if it has a pair of rollers adjoining the at least temporary conveying gap, which conveys the first and second precursor in a temporarily clamping manner, as will be explained in more detail below.
- An abutment device may also have a plurality of such pairs of rollers.
- a particularly gentle handling for the precursors as well as a use of the same piecing device for a variety of different precursors can be achieved if the rollers of a pair of rollers are elastically deformable in the radial direction and / or their axes of rotation can be reversibly pressed apart under exercise of a defined force.
- Such a device allows a sequential processing of very different precursors without the device having to be readjusted or retrofitted.
- At least one roller of a roller pair consists of a foam rubber and / or has a plurality of larger internal cavities which reduce the rigidity of the roller in the radial direction.
- At least one of the rollers of a roller pair has a variable in the circumferential direction Radius on, as will be explained in more detail below.
- Radius on a variable in the circumferential direction Radius on
- a device according to the invention may comprise a clamping device which temporarily clamps the second precursor in a first and a second clamping region during the initiation of the turnover process and / or during the transfer operation, so that the edge region of the first precursor upon introduction of the transfer operation - Respectively during the Umschlagevorgang - lies between the first and second clamping region, as will be explained in more detail below.
- the transport lines comprise belt conveyors. Such embodiments of the invention allow easy and safe transportation of many types of precursors and collections.
- the transport sections may each comprise two belt conveyor systems formed from two belt conveyors spaced apart from one another perpendicular to the conveying direction, and the first and / or second intermediate products may be transported between the belts of the two belt conveyors.
- a particularly large number of combinations of first and second precursors can be processed with the inventive design of a device in which the second conveyor device has a conveyor table, which advances the first precursor for initiating the turnover process with an edge region ahead against the second intermediate product located in the envelope position.
- a conveyor table can support a first precursor on the one hand, whereby, for example, an unwanted lateral bending of the first precursor in an at least temporary conveyor gap can be prevented. This is especially advantageous if the first precursors are conveyed in a substantially horizontal direction through an at least temporary conveying gap.
- a conveyor table may also support the initiation of the handling operation, as will be further explained below.
- a device according to the invention may also have a plurality of conveyor tables.
- a conveyor table can be configured, for example, as a plate or as an assembly of several plates. Alternatively or in addition, a conveyor table may have a rod-shaped or bow-shaped structure.
- particularly sensitive precursors can have a conveyor table on a surface with a particularly low coefficient of adhesion and / or sliding friction.

- relative movements between the precursors and the conveyor table can be promoted, which will be explained in more detail below.
- certain areas which come into contact with the first and / or second precursor may be e.g. be made of polytetrafluoroethylene or materials with similar good sliding properties.
- a conveyor table can at least temporarily hold and convey a first intermediate product in a clamping manner.
- a conveyor table can grab and / or feed a first precursor at least temporarily with a vacuum suction gripper.
- a conveyor table can be connected to a drive, which allows a recurring translational movement of the conveyor table in the conveying direction of the first precursor.
- a particularly simple drive synchronized simultaneously with the second conveyor may be e.g. be achieved when the second conveyor comprises a belt conveyor and the conveyor table is operatively connected via a connecting rod mechanism with the belt conveyor.
- a safe handling of very stiff or heavy second precursors can be achieved if the conveyor table has an edge that supports the handling process of the second precursor.
- Such an edge may be arranged so that it presses against the second precursor during a transfer operation before the first precursor and / or simultaneously with the first precursor and / or after the first precursor. If the edge presses against the second precursor before and / or simultaneously with the first precursor, it is also possible to process thin, flexible first precursors (eg individual sheets) without these being folded, folded or compressed during the turnover process.
- the edge is arranged to the first precursor such that the edge reaches the second precursor clearly ahead of time and thereby initiates the turnover process.
- the device can be set up so that the second precursor is folded by a piecing device, while the first precursor is arranged trailing relative to the fold. In this way, the second precursor can be folded very clean. If desired, the first precursor can be pushed further into the second (converted) precursor after folding.
- the first conveying device is associated with a stop, which temporarily holds the second precursor in the turn-up position, as will be explained in more detail below.
- a stop which temporarily holds the second precursor in the turn-up position, as will be explained in more detail below.
- a stop can also be adjustable or displaceable, with which second precursors can be held in different transposition positions.
- Particularly simple devices can be achieved if the second precursor is held in a position that is substantially vertical relative to the conveying plane of the first conveying device.
- a device according to the invention may comprise a gluing device which glues the first and / or the second precursor before the initiation of the transhipping process.
- Good results can be obtained e.g. using removable adhesives - e.g. as glue spots and / or glue beads.

- a specific structure can be brought into the second precursor in the region of the cover edge, whereby a defined turnover result can be achieved.
- means for providing a paper and / or film web (web) are assigned to the first conveying device.
- a particularly space-saving device can be achieved if it comprises means for feeding a second precursor wound up as a section of a web on a roll.
- the first conveying device is assigned a cutting device for cutting off the second intermediate product from the paper web or the film web.
- This cutting device can be arranged in the conveying path of the first conveying device and be set up so that it cuts off the second precursor from the paper or a film web.
- the second precursor of the device can be supplied as a web.
- the cutting device has a laser and / or a static and / or a rotating and / or a movable in the conveying direction of the second precursor knife.
- the cutting device may be arranged in one embodiment of the method so that the second precursor is cut from the paper or the film web before it is in the conveyor gap.

Fig. 2 ).
- This translational movement essentially corresponds to the conveying speed of the first precursor 1, as a result of which this and the conveying table 15 move simultaneously in the conveying plane and press simultaneously against the second precursor 6, which is in the reversing position, simultaneously with the edge region 2 or the edge 9. as in Fig. 2 is indicated.
- a turnover process is initiated. Since the first precursor 6 lies on the conveyor table 15, it is supported in the vertical direction in the region of the at least temporary conveying gap 14. This prevents bending of the first precursor 1 in the vertical direction due to its own weight. Likewise, the edge 9 pressing simultaneously against the edge region 2 against the second precursor 6 prevents the first precursor 1 from moving in the conveying direction is compressed, or kinked. The edge 9 thus supports the turnover process of the second precursor 6.
- the device shown has a stacking device 18, which comprises a pair of rollers 19a, 19b with axes of rotation arranged parallel to one another and parallel to the edge region 2.
- the two rollers 19, 19b have a foam rubber-made area with several larger internal cavities, whereby their stiffness in the radial direction is relatively low, whereby they are compressible in the radial direction.
- the rollers 19a, 19b also have a circumferentially variable radius, whereby they could also be referred to as segment rollers.
- the upper roller 19a shown rotates counterclockwise while the lower roller 19b rotates clockwise (indicated by curved arrows, respectively).

- the rollers 19a, 19b are also arranged so that they can promote the first and second precursor 1, 6 temporarily clamped, as also in Fig. 4 is illustrated. During this clamping promotion, the first and second precursors 1, 6 are placed even closer together, as in the FIGS. 5 to 7 is shown schematically.
- the translational movement of the conveyor table 15 is matched with the adjoining device 18 so that it is not clamped between the rollers 19a, 19b will, as in Fig. 4 will be shown.
- the conveyor table 15 can, as in Fig. 4 shown, the first precursor 1 still temporarily supported in the vertical direction, while this is conveyed together with the second precursor 6 by the adjoining device 18 by clamping to the second transport path 13b out (shown schematically by the arrow).
- the conveyor table 15, meanwhile, contracts against the conveying direction of the first precursor 1 into the in Fig. 5 shown starting position to later (see. Fig. 7 ) zuzu admissionn a following further first precursor 1 against another second precursor 6.

- FIGS. 9 to 12 schematically show an embodiment of a clamping device, which can temporarily clamp the second precursor 6 before and during the transfer operation at a first and a second clamping portion 25, 26. This can be prevented if necessary, that the second precursor 6 uncontrollably slips over the edge portion 2 of the first precursor 1 at the initiation of the turnover process, whereby the Umschlageauer would be impaired. Such a mostly undesirable behavior can occur, for example, if a part of the second precursor is still being clamped by the first conveying device 17 during the initiation of the handling process - ie is restricted in its movement - and another part is virtually free in the at least temporary conveying gap 14 located.
- the illustrated embodiment of a clamping device comprises a pinch roller 27, which is connected via a belt 29 to a brake roller 32.

- Bereitstellen eines zweiten Vorprodukts;
- Fördern des zweiten Vorprodukts in eine Umschlagestellung;

The second and first precursors may be similar in one embodiment of the method, whereby the second precursor, in contrast to the known from the prior art method is not a special or specific packaging product.
If desired, the second precursor may comprise a printed product having a fold, stitching or binding.
In one embodiment of the method, the web is a single-ply web.
In another embodiment of the method, the web is a multilayer web, in particular a folded and / or folded web.

In one embodiment of the method, the web is printed on a printing machine and wound on a roll. Then the train will be back unwound from the roll and a second precursor is provided as a section of the web.
According to another embodiment of the method, the web is printed with a printing press and a second precursor is provided as a section of this web without the web being wound up on a roll therebetween.
In one embodiment of a method, the second precursor is cut from the web before it is conveyed to the transhipment position. As a result, second precursors can be promoted with particularly high speeds in the Umschlagestellung and thus the cycle times are shortened.
In another embodiment of a method, the second precursor is cut from the web after it has been conveyed to the transhipment position. In this way, the promotion and alignment of the second precursor can be simplified.
Particularly good results can be achieved if the web is cut in a buffer, e.g. a loop buffer - is stored. As a result, on the one hand particularly clean cut edges can be achieved. On the other hand, in this way the cutting process, or the device necessary for it, can be simplified.
According to one embodiment of a method according to the invention, the web is printed with a digital printing press. By using a digital press If necessary, a web can be produced with sections of different second precursors. In this way, for example, collections can be easily produced with individualized envelopes.
In one embodiment of such a method, the second precursors can be personalized advertising products whose contents are aimed at a specific recipient or a specific group of recipients. Such a second precursor may alternatively or in addition also include a personal addressing to a recipient or to a recipient group. A recipient group may e.g. be formed from the inhabitants of a geographical region, a city, a village or a district or a building.
The first and second precursors may be e.g. a collection of single-layer or multi-layered printed products of the same or different sizes. On or under or between the printed products, one or more samples may be arranged as needed. The first and / or the second precursor can also be used e.g. individual products, such as individual printed products.
The edge region may be, for example, a region of a leading edge of the first precursor. If the first precursor comprises a plurality of printed products, at least part of these printed products may be arranged such that they have a preferred edge and the preferred edges together form the edge region.
According to the invention, a reliable and robust method results when the first intermediate product is conveyed, at least with a partial surface lying on a conveyor table, against the second intermediate product located in the envelope position. Such a conveyor table can at least support the promotion of the first precursor against the second precursor present in the transhipment position by supporting it so that it retains its shape.
However, the conveyor table can also be designed so that it supports the initiation of the handling process or initiates this itself, as will be explained in more detail below. In this case, the conveyor table, the first precursor, e.g. hold and / or lead and / or accompany.
A transfer process that is particularly easy to control can be achieved if the conveyor table actively supports the transfer operation. For this purpose, the conveyor table can press, for example, with an edge against the present in the turnover position second precursor and deform this. This makes it possible, inter alia, to combine a large number of combinations of first and second precursors of different dimensions, weights and stiffnesses into collections, without the method or a device carrying out this method having to be substantially adapted to the nature of the preliminary products. The necessary effort for set-up operations can be minimized so that the production downtime can be reduced. According to one embodiment of the method according to the invention, the first precursor comprises a stack of individual printed products. Such printed products may be, for example, advertising leaflets, brochures, magazines, flyers or printed sheets. However, a corresponding stack may also contain other precursors, such as samples. The inventive method allows in comparison to the methods known from the prior art, the processing of stacks, which consist of a plurality of printed products or other objects with widely divergent dimensions. Stacks formed from such articles often have neither a regular cuboid shape nor well-known mechanical properties, making their processing impossible with many methods known in the art.
Good results can be achieved if the first precursor comprises a plurality of printed products having a preferred edge and the printed products are stacked such that their preferred edges together form a stack edge that represents the edge region. When manufactured according to such an embodiment of the method collections, the individual printed products when hand gripping the collection are particularly well secured against slipping out of the collection.
Particularly well handleable collections can be achieved if at least some of the individual printed products have a fold, a stitching or a binding and are stacked so that the folds or bonds form the edge region around which the second precursor turned becomes. In this way, among other things, the risk can be reduced that individual printed products fall by hand gripping the collection of the collection out. A folded and / or stapled and / or glued edge can also be called bundle. In another embodiment of this method, some of the printed products are to be arranged with their collar on the opposite side of the edge region in order to achieve a more uniform thickness of the first precursor.
In a further embodiment of the method can be taken as preferred edges of the printed products such edges, which are arranged on the opposite side of the collar.
In a further embodiment of the method, at least some of the printed products have frets and are arranged stacked so that the frets together form a stacking edge, which is arranged on the opposite side of the edge region of the first precursor, as will be explained in more detail below. Such an embodiment of the method may be advantageous, for example, if the first precursor has printed products differing from one another Dimensions, as this can be the thickness of the edge portion can be reduced, which favors the turning of the first precursor.
In a further embodiment of the method, at least some of the printed products have flowers and are arranged stacked so that the flowers together form a stacking edge which is arranged on the side of the first precursor opposite the edge region.
According to one embodiment of the invention, individual print products are provided in an upstream process step N, wherein the first precursor is formed from Nx (x = 1,2,3 ...) of the N individual print products and the second precursor is formed from the x remaining individual print products becomes. As a result, the costs per manufactured collection can be reduced and additional waste generated by packaging materials can be avoided. The first precursors and second precursors are therefore similar in such an embodiment, so that the second precursors do not represent special or specific packaging means.
In particular, in an embodiment of the method according to the invention, x = 1. By certain embodiments of the invention, which are explained in more detail below, it is also possible that the handled second precursor can be thicker and / or stiffer than the first precursor, without the handling process being difficult to control, as is partially the case in the prior art Technique known method is the case.
Particularly clean-handled collections can be achieved if the first precursor and the second precursor are moved through a stacking device after the introduction of the transfer operation, in which a first part surface of an outer surface of the second precursor and a first side of the first precursor, and a second part surface of Outer surface of the second precursor and a second side of the first precursor are placed together.
A particularly well-defined overturning can be achieved if the second precursor is temporarily clamped in a first and a second clamping region during the initiation of the turnover process and / or during the subsequent handling operation, so that the edge region of the first precursor is initiated during the initiation of the turnover process the Umschlagevorgang - lies between the first and second clamping region, as will be explained in more detail below.
In this way, the second precursor can be positioned particularly precisely to the first precursor.
Likewise, such unwanted slippage of the second precursor over the edge region of the first precursor when turning when needed can be largely prevented.
In addition, if required, a folded edge can also be brought into the second intermediate product - in particular if an edge of a conveyor table lies in front of the edge region of the first intermediate product when the transfer operation is initiated.
A further embodiment is characterized in that the first and the second partial surface are different, that is, the second intermediate product is not handled in half. If a collection produced in this way is laid flat with the larger upper surface facing upwards, then the weight of this larger partial surface prevents the folded-over second intermediate product from being unfolded. As a result, in certain cases (if desired) can be dispensed with further fastening means.
The necessary ratio between the first and second partial area, which prevents a refolding of the second precursor, is dependent on a plurality of properties of the first and / or second precursor-in particular on the stiffness and the weight of the second precursor and the thickness of the first precursor. In a further embodiment, the first partial area amounts to two thirds (2/3) and the second partial area amounts to one third (1/3) of the outer area.
Yet another embodiment of the method according to the invention is characterized in that the first precursor is conveyed in a conveying plane. As a result, in particular with relatively thick and / or unstable first precursors, this gentle conveyance can be achieved.
A particularly advantageous turnover of the second precursor can be achieved if the first precursor is conveyed in a conveying plane and the second precursor is oriented substantially perpendicular to the conveying plane of the first precursor at the initiation of the turnover process.
Depending on the nature of the second precursor, it may be advantageous if the second precursor is grooved prior to the turnover process to facilitate the turnover process. Multiple creasing or embossing is possible.
Alternatively or in addition, at least part of an outer surface of the second precursor may be moistened prior to the transfer operation to facilitate the transfer operation.
A further embodiment of the method according to the invention is characterized in that, prior to the initiation of the transfer operation, an adhesive is applied to one of the partial surfaces of the second precursor and / or to a surface of the first precursor covered by one of the partial surfaces is applied. As a result, in particular with relatively stiff second precursors and / or relatively thick first precursors, unintentional unfolding of the folded second intermediate product can be prevented.
According to a further embodiment of the method according to the invention, the second precursor can be temporarily held in the envelope position by a stop. By means of such an embodiment, the position of the transfer point can be influenced and / or a synchronization between the delivery of the first and the second precursors can be simplified.
A device according to the invention for carrying out such a method generally comprises a first conveying device for the second intermediate product, which conveys the second intermediate product into the envelope position. Likewise, it comprises a second conveying device for the first intermediate product, which feeds the first intermediate product for initiating the turnover process with an edge region ahead against the second intermediate product located in the turnover position.
In one embodiment of the device according to the invention, the first conveying device and the second conveying device are synchronized with one another.
In order to reduce the spatial dimensions of a device according to the invention and / or to be able to convey certain precursors better on curve sections and / or to reduce the speeds of the conveyor devices - respectively to increase the processing speed - the first and / or second precursors may also be shingled at least in sections Arrangement to be transported. A simple processing is possible if the precursors are arranged so scaled that the leading precursors are above the trailing precursors.
In one embodiment of the device according to the invention, the second conveying device may comprise at least two transport sections lying in one plane, between which an at least temporary conveying gap is left free, in which the second intermediate product is held in the folded position. Such an at least temporary conveying gap may be, for example, a gap in a belt conveyor.
An embodiment of a device according to the invention is characterized in that the envelope position extends through the at least temporary conveying gap. In other words, this can also be expressed in such a way that the transhipment position of the second intermediate product and the at least temporary delivery gap are aligned with one another so that the second intermediate product located in the transhipment position is located at least partially in the at least temporary delivery gap.
Particularly clean-handled collections can be achieved if the device has a stacking apparatus in which a first part of an outer surface of the second precursor and a first side of the first precursor, and a second part of the outer surface of the second precursor and a second side opposite the first side of the first precursor be put together. If necessary, such a piecing device also effect a targeted compression of the collections to be produced.
A particularly simple type of piecing apparatus can be achieved if it has a pair of rollers adjoining the at least temporary conveying gap, which conveys the first and second precursor in a temporarily clamping manner, as will be explained in more detail below. An abutment device may also have a plurality of such pairs of rollers.
A particularly gentle handling for the precursors as well as a use of the same piecing device for a variety of different precursors can be achieved if the rollers of a pair of rollers are elastically deformable in the radial direction and / or their axes of rotation can be reversibly pressed apart under exercise of a defined force. Such a device allows a sequential processing of very different precursors without the device having to be readjusted or retrofitted.
In one embodiment of a device according to the invention, at least one roller of a roller pair consists of a foam rubber and / or has a plurality of larger internal cavities which reduce the rigidity of the roller in the radial direction.
In a further embodiment of a device according to the invention, at least one of the rollers of a roller pair has a variable in the circumferential direction Radius on, as will be explained in more detail below. In this way, certain types of precursors can be handled very gently. Thus, for example, partial areas of the second precursor can be placed only at certain points on the first precursor in order not to damage any existing particularly sensitive printed products or samples.
Alternatively or in addition, a device according to the invention may comprise a clamping device which temporarily clamps the second precursor in a first and a second clamping region during the initiation of the turnover process and / or during the transfer operation, so that the edge region of the first precursor upon introduction of the transfer operation - Respectively during the Umschlagevorgang - lies between the first and second clamping region, as will be explained in more detail below.
According to one embodiment, the transport lines comprise belt conveyors. Such embodiments of the invention allow easy and safe transportation of many types of precursors and collections.
In particular, the transport sections may each comprise two belt conveyor systems formed from two belt conveyors spaced apart from one another perpendicular to the conveying direction, and the first and / or second intermediate products may be transported between the belts of the two belt conveyors.
A particularly large number of combinations of first and second precursors can be processed with the inventive design of a device in which the
second conveyor device has a conveyor table, which advances the first precursor for initiating the turnover process with an edge region ahead against the second intermediate product located in the envelope position. Such a conveyor table can support a first precursor on the one hand, whereby, for example, an unwanted lateral bending of the first precursor in an at least temporary conveyor gap can be prevented. This is especially advantageous if the first precursors are conveyed in a substantially horizontal direction through an at least temporary conveying gap. A conveyor table may also support the initiation of the handling operation, as will be further explained below. A device according to the invention may also have a plurality of conveyor tables. A conveyor table can be configured, for example, as a plate or as an assembly of several plates. Alternatively or in addition, a conveyor table may have a rod-shaped or bow-shaped structure.
In particular, for the processing of particularly sensitive precursors can have a conveyor table on a surface with a particularly low coefficient of adhesion and / or sliding friction. As a result, relative movements between the precursors and the conveyor table can be promoted, which will be explained in more detail below. For example, certain areas which come into contact with the first and / or second precursor may be e.g. be made of polytetrafluoroethylene or materials with similar good sliding properties.
In a further embodiment of a device according to the invention, a conveyor table can at least temporarily hold and convey a first intermediate product in a clamping manner.
Alternatively or in addition, a conveyor table can grab and / or feed a first precursor at least temporarily with a vacuum suction gripper.
In particular, a conveyor table can be connected to a drive, which allows a recurring translational movement of the conveyor table in the conveying direction of the first precursor.
A particularly simple drive synchronized simultaneously with the second conveyor may be e.g. be achieved when the second conveyor comprises a belt conveyor and the conveyor table is operatively connected via a connecting rod mechanism with the belt conveyor.
A safe handling of very stiff or heavy second precursors can be achieved if the conveyor table has an edge that supports the handling process of the second precursor. Such an edge may be arranged so that it presses against the second precursor during a transfer operation before the first precursor and / or simultaneously with the first precursor and / or after the first precursor. If the edge presses against the second precursor before and / or simultaneously with the first precursor, it is also possible to process thin, flexible first precursors (eg individual sheets) without these being folded, folded or compressed during the turnover process.
In one embodiment of the device according to the invention, the edge is arranged to the first precursor such that the edge reaches the second precursor clearly ahead of time and thereby initiates the turnover process.
In particular, the device can be set up so that the second precursor is folded by a piecing device, while the first precursor is arranged trailing relative to the fold. In this way, the second precursor can be folded very clean. If desired, the first precursor can be pushed further into the second (converted) precursor after folding.
Another embodiment of the device according to the invention is characterized in that the first conveying device is associated with a stop, which temporarily holds the second precursor in the turn-up position, as will be explained in more detail below. In this way, a well-defined turnover position, and thus a consistent in all produced collections Umschlageergebnis be ensured in a simple manner. If necessary, such a stop can also be adjustable or displaceable, with which second precursors can be held in different transposition positions.
Particularly simple devices can be achieved if the second precursor is held in a position that is substantially vertical relative to the conveying plane of the first conveying device.
In order to prevent a reopening of the transferred second precursors, a device according to the invention may comprise a gluing device which glues the first and / or the second precursor before the initiation of the transhipping process. Good results can be obtained e.g. using removable adhesives - e.g. as glue spots and / or glue beads.
A further embodiment of a device according to the invention is characterized in that it has a moistening device for at least partial moistening of the second precursor before the initiation of the transfer operation. By such moistening about the inherent rigidity of a paper existing second precursor can be reduced in the region of the transfer point, and thus the transfer operation can be supported. Such moistening can take place, for example, via nozzles or at least partially wetted rollers, or rollers.
Alternatively or in addition, the device may comprise a creasing device for culling the second precursor. By means of such a creasing device, for example, one or more transverse grooves (or embossments) can be introduced into the two precursor before overturning, whereby the transfer can be assisted. Likewise, if desired, a specific structure can be brought into the second precursor in the region of the cover edge, whereby a defined turnover result can be achieved.
According to one embodiment of a device according to the invention, means for providing a paper and / or film web (web) are assigned to the first conveying device.
A particularly space-saving device can be achieved if it comprises means for feeding a second precursor wound up as a section of a web on a roll.
According to a further embodiment of a device according to the invention, the first conveying device is assigned a cutting device for cutting off the second intermediate product from the paper web or the film web. This cutting device can be arranged in the conveying path of the first conveying device and be set up so that it cuts off the second precursor from the paper or a film web. In this way, the second precursor of the device can be supplied as a web. Thereby, as already described, in a simple manner, if necessary, e.g. individualized collections are produced.
Good results can be achieved if the cutting device has a laser and / or a static and / or a rotating and / or a movable in the conveying direction of the second precursor knife.
In order to improve the promotion of certain types of second precursors, the cutting device may be arranged in one embodiment of the method so that the second precursor is cut from the paper or the film web before it is in the conveyor gap.
Alternatively, a cutting device may be arranged so that the second precursor is cut from the paper or film web when at least partially in the conveying gap. In this way, in certain second precursors, a particularly accurate promotion to the transhipment position can be achieved.
