Definitions
- the invention relates to a connector for two electrical power cables.
- the connector has a plug and a socket, into each of which a conductor of the cable is insertable and which are adapted to produce a releasable electrical contact between the conductors.
- the socket has a longitudinal cavity and the plug has a longitudinally extending pin that can be inserted into the cavity.
- the metals for conductors or parts of the connector described below are also intended to include the corresponding metal alloys.
- Known connectors for electric power cables which consist of two connector parts, which are each contacted with a conductor end, may have various shapes, of which some examples are given below.
- the connector parts may each have an extension with a flat contact surface at one end. These contact surfaces are superimposed and connected with a screw to make the electrical connection between the two connector parts. To ensure proper electrical contact, the contact surfaces must be made consuming and firmly connected with much effort.
- the connector may be a connector and may consist of a socket and a pin or plug which may be inserted into a socket cavity.
- the socket is provided at its contact surface with the plug with contact elements which make the electrical contact through a plurality of individual contact points between the pin and socket. It can also be equipped with such contact elements of the plug.
- the contact elements may for example consist of contact blades or contact springs. They are made of copper and are silver plated, gold plated or nickel plated. The Use of such contact elements in a connector is associated with their production and assembly in the socket or on the plug with considerable overhead of material, labor and related costs.
- the US 3,372,476 A. describes a connector for electrical cables whose plug and socket opening each have a conical shape.
- the plug is knocked into the socket with a tool.
- the plug is provided with a thin layer of indium, which causes the connection to become permanent after a certain time.
- the US 2 308 811 A describes an electrical cable connector in which the plug and the opening of the socket have a conical shape. The two parts hold together thanks to the friction forces.
- the DE 10 2010 045 921 A1 discloses a connection system with two complementary connectors, each having a conical shape. One connector is held in the other by self-locking.
- the invention has for its object to provide a connector for electrical power cables, which is simple in construction, the connector parts can be connected without effort and which allows proper electrical contact.
- the cavity of the socket and the pin of the plug have mutually identical truncated cone shapes, so that the pin is detectable in the hollow by self-locking in a working position.
- the connector according to the invention allows a quick and easy connection of two electrical power cables, in which no special tools are needed. Due to the identical, frustoconical shapes of cavity and bolt arises in working position when socket and plug are plugged together, a self-locking, so that there is a solid, detachable connection of the two connector parts.
- the self-locking is generated by static friction between the precisely matched truncated cone lateral surfaces of bolt and cavity. Due to the surface roughness of the two lateral surfaces, the strength of the self-locking can be influenced.
- the self-locking ensures that the connector remains in working position as long as no self-locking counteracting force, such as a pulling force, on the connector parts acts.
- the connection of the cable is detachable, so that each of the two cables can be connected with another, further cable if necessary.
- the connector according to the invention is also particularly inexpensive.
- the connector according to the invention is equipped with a locking means.
- This is a pin which is arranged so that its axis is perpendicular to a connection axis of the connector, and which cooperates with a circumferential around the diameter of the bolt recess.
- the connector according to the invention is advantageously suitable for the connection of cables of the same material or, for example, copper and aluminum cables in the low and medium voltage range. They are therefore suitable, for example, for use in wind turbines to connect aluminum cables of the tower segments together and to make the transition to the copper pipes in the nacelle and in the foundation.
- the connector according to the invention may alternatively serve to connect an electrical cable to an electrical device.
- the socket is fixed mechanically and electrically connected to the device, so that the plug connected to the cable can be quickly and easily connected to the device.
- a connector 1 is shown without locking means in a side view and in the open position.
- Fig. 1B shows the same connector 1 in a longitudinal section and in working position, ie in the closed position.
- the connector 1 comprises a plug 2 and a socket 3.
- the plug 2 and the socket 3 each have an opening 4, 5 along its main axis, in each of which a stripped conductor of a cable (not shown) can be inserted so that it firmly with the respective connector part 2, 3 can be connected.
- the main axes of the plug 2 and the socket 3 are parallel and coincide with the main or connecting axis 10 of the connector 1 together.
- the conductor ends of the cables are screwed by means of screws in the plug 2 and the socket 3.
- each of the plug 2 and the socket 3 have two screw holes 6, 7, 8, 9 provided with an internal thread.
- the respective number of screw holes depends on the type and field of application of the connector.
- the screws used are preferably shear screws, so that the respective protruding parts of the screws can be broken off after screwing the conductor and you get a uniformly tubular connector surface.
- the openings 4, 5 of the plug 2 and the socket 3, in which the stripped conductor ends are inserted each have ring-shaped or spirally arranged, tapered projections 13, 14, which break up any existing oxide layers on the stripped conductors and so the electrical Reduce resistance between conductors and connector parts 2, 3.
- the stripped conductors can also be connected in other known manner with the connector parts, for example by crimping (press connection).
- the plug 2 has a longitudinally projecting, the main axis 10 of the connector 1 following bolt 11.
- the sleeve 3 has a longitudinal direction, the main axis 10 following hollow 12.
- the bolt 11 is inserted into the cavity 12, so that a releasable electrical contact between the ladders can be made.
- the two connector parts 2, 3 consist for example of copper or aluminum.
- the connector parts 2, 3 are preferably made of pure copper or pure aluminum, if they are to be connected to the conductors by crimping. If the abovementioned screwing technique is used to connect the conductors to the connector parts 2, 3, the connector parts 2, 3 are preferably made of brass or of an aluminum alloy, since these materials have a greater hardness than pure copper or aluminum.
- both connector parts 2, 3 can consist of the same metal or different metals.
- the bolt 11 and the cavity 12 have mutually identical truncated cone shapes, so that the bolt 11 can be detected in the cavity 12 by self-locking in the working position.
- the self-locking can be canceled for example by acting on the connector parts 2, 3 tensile forces. Without such a tensile load, the connector 1 remains securely in working position. In the working position of the connector 1, the pin 11 and the cavity 12 completely overlap.
- the connector according to the invention can be in the working position, for example, about 140 mm to 260 mm long and connect electrical power cables with cross-sectional areas in the range of about 95 mm 2 to 500 mm 2 together.
- Fig. 2 shows a section of the overlap region of the connector in the working position, in which the bolt 11 is inserted into the cavity 12.
- the generatrix 10 'and the cone axis of the truncated cone shape which coincides with the major axis 10 of the connector are shown.
- the truncated cone shapes of bolt 11 and cavity 12 are identical, so that they have a common surface line 10 'and a common cone axis 10 in the working position.
- the angle ⁇ between the cone axis 10 and the generatrix 10 'advantageously has a value between 0.2 ° and 10 °. This ensures sufficient self-locking, and at the same time, the connector can be easily made.
- the truncated cone preferably corresponds to a Morse taper according to DIN 228 and the angle ⁇ to the angle of inclination of the Morse taper.
- a locking means In conjunction with the in the Figs. 3A to 5B illustrated connectors 1 according to the invention examples of different locking means are explained.
- the connectors 1 according to these further embodiments are identical in construction to the connector 1 according to the first embodiment, with the additional feature of the respective locking means.
- a connector 1 according to a first preferred embodiment is shown in a side view and in working position.
- Fig. 3B shows the same connector 1 in a longitudinal section and also in working position.
- the locking means consists of a screw 15, which is screwed into working position in a designated opening 16 in the wall of the socket 3 at the height of the cavity 12.
- the axis of the opening 16 intersects the main axis 10 of the connector 1 vertically.
- the screw 15 cooperates with a circumferential around the diameter of the pin 11 recess 17, for example, a groove together.
- a connector 1 according to a second preferred embodiment is shown in a side view and in the open position.
- Fig. 3B shows the same connector 1 in a longitudinal section and in working position.
- Fig. 4C shows a cross section of the connector 1 along in FIG Fig. 4B drawn section line AA.
- the locking means here comprises a pin 18 which is pressed into the working position in a designated opening 19 in the wall of the socket 3 at the height of the cavity 12.
- the axis of the opening 19 is perpendicular to the main axis 10 of the connector 1, but does not intersect it, ie the axis of the opening 19 forms a secant for the circle described by the bushing wall in cross-section.
- the pen 18 acts with a circumferential around the diameter of the pin 11 recess 20, for example, a groove together.
- the pin 18 slides while the side into the circumferential groove 20, as from the Figs. 4B and 4C evident.
- the locking with a pin represents a favorable alternative to the locking with a screw and requires no additional tools.
- Fig. 5A is a side view of a connector 1 again shown without locking means in working position.
- Fig. 5B shows the same connector 1 in a longitudinal section and also in working position.
- the locking means consists of a shell 21.
- the shell 21 is preferably made of plastic.
- the shell 21 has on its inner surface two at right angles to the main axis 10 of the connector projecting projections 24, 25, for example, tongue springs, which in each case a recess 26, 27, for example, a groove, the socket and the plug can be inserted.
- the groove springs and the grooves in each case around the inner diameter of the shell 21 and the outer diameter of the plug 2 and the sleeve 3 are circumferential.
- the shell 21 can, as in Fig.
- FIG. 5A represented, for example, consist of two halves 22, 23, which are joined together in the longitudinal direction of the connector 1 in the working position and which are connected to each other, for example with a film hinge.
- the shell 21 is shown open.
- the shell can also consist of two halves, with one half each already attached to the socket 3 and the plug 2. If the connector 1 is brought into working position, the shell is closed at the same time. In both cases, the shell 21 can be closed, for example by means of a latching mechanism.
- Such a shell can be installed without additional tools and prevents accidental removal of the plug 2 from the socket 3 in working position.
- the locking by means of a plastic shell also offers protection against contact according to protection class IP2X (according to EN 60529).
- a compound according to the invention comprises the described connector 1 according to the invention and a rolling hose (not shown).

The invention relates to a connector for two electrical power cables. The connector has a plug and a socket, into each of which a conductor of the cable is insertable and which are adapted to produce a releasable electrical contact between the conductors. The socket has a longitudinal cavity and the plug has a longitudinally extending pin that can be inserted into the cavity.
The metals for conductors or parts of the connector described below are also intended to include the corresponding metal alloys.
Known connectors for electric power cables, which consist of two connector parts, which are each contacted with a conductor end, may have various shapes, of which some examples are given below.
For example, the connector parts may each have an extension with a flat contact surface at one end. The invention has for its object to provide a connector for electrical power cables, which is simple in construction, the connector parts can be connected without effort and which allows proper electrical contact.
This object is achieved by a connector according to
The connector according to the invention allows a quick and easy connection of two electrical power cables, in which no special tools are needed. Due to the identical, frustoconical shapes of cavity and bolt arises in working position when socket and plug are plugged together, a self-locking, so that there is a solid, detachable connection of the two connector parts. The self-locking is generated by static friction between the precisely matched truncated cone lateral surfaces of bolt and cavity. Due to the surface roughness of the two lateral surfaces, the strength of the self-locking can be influenced. The self-locking ensures that the connector remains in working position as long as no self-locking counteracting force, such as a pulling force, on the connector parts acts. The connection of the cable is detachable, so that each of the two cables can be connected with another, further cable if necessary. The connector according to the invention is also particularly inexpensive.
Furthermore, the connector according to the invention is equipped with a locking means. This is a pin which is arranged so that its axis is perpendicular to a connection axis of the connector, and which cooperates with a circumferential around the diameter of the bolt recess.
This ensures that the connector remains reliably in working position even when engaging a tensile force.
The connector according to the invention is advantageously suitable for the connection of cables of the same material or, for example, copper and aluminum cables in the low and medium voltage range. They are therefore suitable, for example, for use in wind turbines to connect aluminum cables of the tower segments together and to make the transition to the copper pipes in the nacelle and in the foundation.
The connector according to the invention may alternatively serve to connect an electrical cable to an electrical device. For example, the socket is fixed mechanically and electrically connected to the device, so that the plug connected to the cable can be quickly and easily connected to the device.

A compound according to the invention comprises the described
