Description

The invention relates to a method for printing on printing paper from the roll with a decor having at least one decor for use in sheet-like components, in particular for floor, wall, ceiling or furniture applications, wherein on a paper section of the printing paper with a predetermined length less than 5 m given print image is provided.

A method of the aforementioned kind has already been known from practice for decades and is disclosed, for example, in US Pat US 2004 / 023,006 , Usually, printing paper is printed from the roll in rotary printing or gravure printing. The printing cylinders used have the decor to be printed on as a negative image. The printing of printing paper in rotary printing is particularly useful when printing paper with a specific decor is required in large quantities. The disadvantage, however, is that in rotary printing with predetermined pressure rollers only a very specific decor can be printed. If a different décor is required, retrofitting the printing device with other printing rollers is required. Particular problems arise when certain decors are needed only in very small quantities. First, in such a case, the constant retooling of the printing device with other printing cylinders consuming, on the other hand, a variety of printing cylinders with different decors are necessary, which is already problematic because the cost of printing cylinders are relatively high.

From the WO 2005/104040 A1 , of the US 6,354,212 B1 and the US 2002 / 171,692 A1 Already methods for printing wallpapers are known, wherein a roll of paper is printed by means of a digital printing process with any desired and different decorative images.

Object of the present invention is therefore to provide a method of the type mentioned in which can be printed inexpensively and quickly with different Dekorbildem even small amounts of printing paper. The above object is achieved in a method of the type mentioned in the present invention essentially in that the printing paper is printed by a digital printing method by a digital printing device and that the paper section subsequent paper section has a different second decorative image than the decorative image of the previous paper section, referred to as the first decorative image, wherein that first and second decorative image include different woodgrain decors.

The invention is based, first of all, on the basic idea of using a digital printing method instead of the rotary printing method for the present application. By means of a digital printing device can be very simple and inexpensive computer-aided create a variety of decors and decor images. The print quality of a digital printing process is comparable to that of rotary printing. It is particularly advantageous, moreover, that after printing one paper section of the printing paper with a given decorative image, it is easily possible to print another, further decorative image on the following paper section, without converting the printing device, as in the case of rotary printing in conjunction with others Pressure rollers is required. In particular, the present invention is suitable for printing on printing paper with decors, which are provided in smaller series with flat components for floor, wall, ceiling or furniture applications. The invention offers significant advantages since it is possible by the invention to provide different grain patterns on each paper section.

Although it is known in practice to apply the digital printing method for printing on printing paper for use with sheet-like components, such as panels, on individual sheets. It is also known to print the components as such. However, printing on the printing paper from the roll has hitherto not been carried out. So far, the relevant sheets have been printed individually. However, the key difference lies in the variability of the decorative images of the individual paper sections of the printing paper web.

As with rotary printing, in the present invention, the decorative image of a paper section may have a plurality of different image sections. In contrast to the rotary printing, however, the image sections within the decorative image can be varied from one paper section to the other. The variability can lie, in particular, in the dimensions of the individual image sections, the arrangement of the image sections within the decorative image and in the color design of the decorative image. Although, of course, the dimensions of a paper section are variable, it makes sense for manufacturing reasons, to provide all paper sections with the same dimensions. The width of a paper section and thus also the width of a decorative image is between 1, 0 m and 3 m, while the length of a decorative image is between 0.5 m and 2 m. A usual measure for the width of the printing paper is 2.07 m, while the width of the decor or the respective decorative image is usually 2.0 m. A typical length of a paper section is 1.3 m.

In particular, the invention also offers the possibility that the decorative image following the decorative image has further image sections which differ from the image sections of the preceding decorative image, it being even possible for the decorative images and in particular the image sections of all decorative images of the printing paper to be a printing paper web or roll are different. According to the invention wood decors printed with appropriate grains. It can be ensured that ultimately components for floor, wall, ceiling and furniture applications can be made, which are different from each other. The invention thus makes it possible that no component of its decor corresponds to another component identical.

Also, large-scale floors can be made from components by the invention in which the grain from the individual components not only continues in the longitudinal direction of successively arranged components, but also on adjacent rows. In this context, in a preferred embodiment of the invention, it is provided that adjacent decorative images and / or adjacent image sections are designed taking into account the loss of printing paper during cutting and / or profiling of the component in such a way that interference-free overlapping of decorative decals and / or adjacent image sections takes place after cutting and / or the profiling of the component results. Of importance in this context is that the production of panels usually proceeds in such a way that panels whose dimensions make up a multiple of the dimensions of a floor panel are hot-pressed with the printing paper after printing. Subsequently, these plates are cut to the panel dimensions. This cutting results in a loss of printing paper at the edges. Since panels generally have connection profiles in the form of tongue and groove connections or click connections for connection to adjacent panels, edge profiling is usually carried out. Again, this usually results in a loss of printing paper. This can go from a few millimeters in the centimeter range. Since the abovementioned printing paper loss is known in the panel production, this can be taken into account correspondingly in the printing or the creation of the decorative images / image sections, namely in such a way that the individual decor images / image sections on the printing paper do not merge directly into one another or through correspondingly wide edges from one another are separated. Only through the printing paper loss results in the interference-free merging. It should be pointed out that the width of the printing paper loss can basically be variable, since it depends very much on the type of profiling of the component.

Incidentally, a printing paper roll is disclosed with printed printing paper, which is intended for use in sheet-like components, in particular for floor, wall, ceiling or furniture applications, wherein on a paper section of the printing paper with a predetermined length less than 5 m, a predetermined decorative image is provided and wherein the paper section following the paper section has a different, further decorative image than the decorative image of the preceding paper section. It is understood that all of the aforementioned structural features in connection with the printing paper roll, which have been described in connection with the aforementioned method, also be provided in the printing paper roll itself, without the need for further mention.

The invention will be described in more detail with reference to the drawings. All described and / or shown features alone or in any combination form the subject matter of the present invention, regardless of their combination in the claims or their dependency. It shows:
  • Fig. 1 a side view of a partially unrolled printing paper roll and
  • Fig. 2 a plan view of the printing paper of the printing paper roll Fig. 1 ,

In Fig. 1 is a printing paper roll 1 shown schematically, in which for the sake of illustration, the beginning is unrolled. In the completely unrolled state of the printing paper roll 1 is a web of printing paper 2, which has a plurality of individual paper sections 3, 4, 5. In the following, only the first three sections will be discussed. On each paper section 3, 4, 5 of the printing paper 2 is a decorative image. In the present case, all decal images together form the decoration printed on the printing paper 2.

The printing paper 2 can be conventional resinated, partially resinated or perfumed paper, which may or may not have an ink receiving layer on the printing side.

At the in Fig. 2 illustrated embodiment, the decor images of the paper sections 3, 4, 5 each have five image sections. In this case, the paper section 3 has the image sections a, b, c, d, e, while the paper section 4 has the image sections f, g, h, i, j. Finally, the paper section 5 has the image sections k, 1, m, n, o. It is understood that the paper sections following on the printing paper 2 have corresponding image sections. In the present case, each image section has the shape of an elongated rectangle. In the illustrated embodiment example, the length L of each of the paper sections is 1.3 m, while the width B of a paper section is 0.4 m. Thus, the total width of the decorative image of the paper section 3 is set to 2 m. However, it is understood that both the length L and the width B can be variable. Thus, both shorter or longer as well as wider and narrower image sections can be provided within a paper section. Also, the longitudinal orientation of the individual image sections does not have to run in the longitudinal direction of the printing paper web. A transverse alignment is readily possible. In addition, it is understood that the image sections do not have to be composed of rectangles only. The individual image sections can have any desired decor.

It is not shown, moreover, that in the area the longitudinal edges of the printing paper are still paper areas that are ultimately not printed with the decor. It usually remains an edge on which the decor is not provided, which is not shown here.

In the case of the printed printing paper 2 illustrated in the figures, it is now the case that the decorative image of the paper section 3 differs from the decorative image of the immediately adjacent paper section 4. Also, in the illustrated embodiment, the decor image of the paper section 4 is different from the decor image of the adjacent paper section 5. Moreover, the decor image of the paper section 3 is different from the decor image of the paper section 5. Furthermore, in the illustrated embodiment it is the case that all image sections a to o of the individual decorative images of the paper sections 3, 4, 5 differ from one another. This difference in the Dekorbildem and the image portions may be provided in any successive paper sections. Ultimately, even all decor images and also all image sections of all decals of the printing paper roll can be different.

The method for printing the printing paper 2 is now carried out such that the printing paper 2 is fed from a blank paper roll of a digital printing device. This may be, for example, an ink-jet printer, over which the decor is printed. Before printing, the printing paper 2 is guided to a paper removal, where the subsequently printed printing paper is rolled up to a printed printing paper roll. After setting up the printing device, the printing is started and then the individual paper sections 3, 4, 5 are printed. It is provided by a corresponding computer control that the decor images of adjacent paper sections 3, 4, 5 and also the individual image sections a to o of the paper sections 3, 4, 5 are different. It is understood that it is also possible by an appropriate setting, for example, to print the decorative image of the paper section 3 several times in succession or, for example, to print the decorative image of the paper section 5 following the decorative image of the paper section 3. Ultimately, the digital printing process with the help of an appropriate computer-aided control offers every possibility to print the individual decor images in any order.

Incidentally, it is also possible that, for example, the image sections of the decor images 3, 5 are formed so that the decoration of the image section e merges into the decor of the image section k when the image section k is placed next to the image section e. In a grain design according to the invention, the grain lines can then merge without interference from one image section into the other image section. In this way, a merging design and a uniform decor, for example, in a floor covering can be achieved. It should be pointed out, however, that the trouble-free intertwining of the individual image sections or decorative images is generally not given on the printing paper itself, since in the further production a printing paper loss results due to the blank and the profiling of the component. The trouble-free overlapping results only taking into account the loss of printing paper.

Klick-Verbindung.After printing on the printing paper, individual sheets, which then make up one or more decorative images / image sections, are cut. These blanks are then hot pressed with flat bodies. This often happens via a KT-pressing device. After hot pressing, the bodies are cut into components, such as panels. Subsequently, then usually a marginal profiling to produce a tongue and groove or click connection.
