Description

The document FR 1 394 160 describes a bogie according to the preamble of claim 1.

We already know in the state of the art, in particular according to FR 2 946 307 , a railway vehicle bogie comprising two pairs of wheels, the wheels of each pair being connected to each other by an axle structure. The bogie further comprises an articulated frame carrying the axle structures via primary suspension means.

Note that a chassis is called "articulated" when it comprises two parts (or half-frame) articulated relative to each other about an axis. Such an articulated frame makes it possible to limit wheel discharges induced by track defects (also called "left"). Thus, the articulated frame allows the bogie to cross the left, that is to say it may have ground support points that are not in the same rolling plane.

When the bogie is intended to equip a low floor railway vehicle, the vertical size of the suspensions must be relatively small. For this purpose, the suspensions are generally formed by elastic members of elastomer, in particular rubber, which are compact.

However, such elastomeric bodies lose effectiveness over time. In addition, the effectiveness of these elastomeric members is also reduced when their temperature is very high or very low, which can occur when the railway vehicle is traveling in a country with a hot climate, or cold.

The object of the invention is in particular to remedy this drawback by providing a railway vehicle bogie whose suspensions remain effective whatever their temperature, and whose suspensions have a satisfactory service life, all while maintaining a reduced vertical space requirement in order to the bogie can equip a low-floor railway vehicle.

A cet effet, l'invention a pour objet un bogie de véhicule ferroviaire, notamment de tramway à plancher bas, selon la revendication 1.For this purpose, the subject of the invention is a railway vehicle bogie, in particular a low-floor tram, according to claim 1.

The arms of the axle structure extend longitudinally, so that the primary coil springs are deported substantially at the same height as the axle structures, unlike bogies of the state of the art in which the primary suspensions are usually arranged above the axle structures.

Thus, the bogie according to the invention comprises helical springs, while maintaining a reduced size in height, despite the fact that the coil springs are generally considered more bulky than elastomeric elastic members.

Advantageously, the chassis of the bogie is articulated, so that it allows the bogie to cross the track defects, or left, unhindered, as indicated above. In this case, the bogie according to the invention may comprise primary suspensions which work only in a vertical direction. Such primary suspensions reduced bulk and complexity compared to primary suspensions rigid chassis bogie.

A bogie according to the invention may further comprise one or more of the following characteristics, taken alone or in any technically possible combination.
  • Each primary helical spring extends in a direction substantially perpendicular to the general direction in which extends the spar carrying the second seat for this primary coil spring.
  • At least one of the side rails carries a motor, the motor being connected to at least one of the wheels via a reducer.
  • The bogie comprises: a load crossbar, intended to carry a railway vehicle body, and secondary suspension means, comprising, for each of the side rails, at least one secondary coil spring extending between a first seat, formed on it spar, and a second seat, formed on the load crossbar.
  • Each secondary helical spring extends in a direction substantially perpendicular to the general direction in which extends the spar bearing the first seat for the secondary coil spring.
  • Each axle structure comprises an axle beam, extending between the axle boxes of this axle structure, and carrying an axle shaft integral with the wheels between which this axle structure extends.

The invention also relates to a railway vehicle, in particular a low-floor tramway, comprising a bogie as defined above.

The invention will be better understood on reading the description which follows, given solely by way of example and with reference to the appended figures in which:
  • the figure 1 is a perspective view of a railway vehicle bogie according to an exemplary embodiment of the invention; and
  • the figure 2 is a sectional view of the bogie of the figure 1 , in a longitudinal cutting plane Il passing through the suspensions of the bogie.

In the present description, the terms "vertical" and "horizontal" are defined with respect to a bogie mounted in a railway vehicle. Thus, a horizontal plane is substantially parallel to the plane in which the axles extend and the vertical plane is substantially parallel to the plane in which the wheels extend.

The term "longitudinal" is defined in relation to the direction in which a railway vehicle extends in a horizontal plane, and the term "transverse" is defined according to a direction substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction in a horizontal plane.

A reference numeral is shown in the figures, in which the longitudinal direction is designated by the reference X, the transverse direction is designated by the reference Y, and the vertical direction, perpendicular to the longitudinal X and transverse Y directions, is designated by the reference Z.

Furthermore, the terms "front" and "rear" are defined with respect to the direction of movement of the railway vehicle in the longitudinal direction X. By convention, in the figures, the term "front" corresponds to the left and the term "rear" " to the right.

On a représenté sur la figure 1 un bogie 10 de véhicule ferroviaire, par exemple pour un tramway à plancher bas (non représenté).We have shown on the figure 1 a railway vehicle bogie 10, for example for a low-floor tram (not shown).

The bogie 10 comprises two pairs 12 of wheels 14, respectively arranged at the front and at the rear of the bogie 10. The wheels 14 of each pair are connected to each other by an axle structure 16.

Each axle structure 16 comprises two axle boxes 18, namely one for each wheel 14, and an axle crossmember 20 extending transversely between the two axle boxes 18 and secured to these boxes. axle 18. Each axle beam 20 carries an axle shaft 22 extending transversely between the wheels 14 and integral with these wheels 14. In a conventional manner, the axle boxes 18 and the axle cross member 20 form an axle 18. one-piece assembly, rigid in flexion and torsion about the axle axis, and the axle shaft 22 ensures the transmission between the two wheels 14 of the axle.

The axle structures 16 are carried by an articulated frame 24 via primary suspension means 26 which will be described later.

In the example shown, the frame 24 is said to be of the inner type, that is to say that it is arranged in a space delimited by the wheels 14. Such an inner frame has a reduced mass, and a low cost of manufacturing.

The chassis 24 comprises two side rails 28 and two chassis cross members, in particular a front crossmember 30 and a rear crossmember 32, each extending transversely between the side rails 28.

Seul le longeron droit est visible sur la figure 1.In what follows, a first spar among the side spars 28 will be called right spar, and the other spar will be called left spar. Only the right spar is visible on the figure 1 .

En l'absence de défaut de voie, la direction générale du longeron 28 est sensiblement parallèle à la direction longitudinale X.Each crosspiece 30, 32 is integral with a respective lateral spar 28, and articulated around a pivot connection with the other spar 28, of axis parallel to a general direction in which the spar 28 extends with which it is Speak clearly. In the absence of track defect, the general direction of the spar 28 is substantially parallel to the longitudinal direction X.

In the example described, the front cross member 30 is secured to the right spar 28, and the rear cross member 32 is hinged about a pivot connection 34 with the right spar. Furthermore, the rear cross member 32 is integral with the left spar, and the front cross member 30 is hinged about a pivot connection 36 with the left spar.

Thus, the frame 24 has two L-shaped portions, each L-shaped portion being formed by a cross member and a respective spar. These two L-shaped portions are articulated with respect to each other substantially about a diagonal axis passing through the pivot links 34, 36.

On notera qu'un châssis articulé similaire à celui de l'invention est par exemple décrit dans EP 0 834 435 .Note that an articulated frame similar to that of the invention is for example described in EP 0 834 435 .

As indicated above, the frame 24 is connected to the axle structures 16 via primary suspension means 26 which will now be described. More particularly, each lateral spar 28 is connected to an axle box 18 via these primary suspension means 26.

As shown in particular on the figure 2 , the suspension means 26 comprise, for each axle box 18, an arm 38 extending substantially longitudinally between a first end 38A integral with the corresponding axle box 18, and a second end 38B free. Each arm 38 is articulated around a pivot connection 40 with the frame 24, in particular with one of the side rails 28.

The primary suspension means 26 further comprise, for each arm 38, a primary coil spring 42 extending between a first seat 42A, formed on the second end 38B of the arm 38, and a second seat 42B, carried by the frame 24 , in particular by the lateral spar 28 corresponding.

As indicated above, each arm 38 extends substantially longitudinally, so that each primary coil spring 42 is deported substantially at the height of the axle structures 16. The vertical space of the primary suspension means 42 is therefore reduced, in particular with respect to conventional bogie primary suspensions, which are usually arranged above the axle structures.

Indeed, since the frame 24 is articulated, it is the articulation of this frame 24 around the diagonal passing through the joints 34 and 36 which allows limit the wheel discharges induced by track defects, and not the axles 16 associated with the primary suspension means 26, these primary suspension means 26 can thus be adapted to work only in the vertical direction Z.

Thus, the primary suspension 26 allows a relative vertical displacement of the axle structure 16 relative to the frame 24, that is to say that the axle structure 16 is suspended relative to the frame 24 in a substantially vertical direction Z, and mobile in rotation about an axis passing through the pivot links 40.

Conventionally, each motor 44 is connected to at least one of the wheels 14 via a gearbox 46 and a coupling connecting the motor 44 to the gearbox 46.

The bogie 10 also comprises secondary suspension means 48, allowing relative vertical displacement of the bogie 10 relative to the railway vehicle on which said bogie 10 is mounted.

Thus, the bogie 10 comprises a load cross member 50 of conventional type, intended to carry a box of the railway vehicle.

The secondary suspension means 48 comprise, for each of the lateral spars 28, at least one secondary helical spring 52, for example two secondary helical springs 52 arranged in parallel, each extending between a first seat 52A formed on the spar 28, and a second seat 52B formed on the load crossbar 50.

Avantageusement, chaque ressort hélicoïdal secondaire 52 s'étend dans une direction sensiblement verticale Z, c'est-à-dire une direction sensiblement perpendiculaire à la direction générale dans laquelle s'étend le longeron 28 portant le premier siège 52A pour ce ressort hélicoïdal secondaire 52.Advantageously, each secondary helical spring 52 extends in a substantially vertical direction Z, that is to say a direction substantially perpendicular to the general direction in which extends the spar 28 carrying the first seat 52A for the secondary coil spring 52.

Note that the invention is not limited to the embodiment described above, but could have various variants without departing from the scope of the claims.

In particular, the invention could be applied to a bogie carrier, not including a motor.

Furthermore, the articulated chassis of the bogie could have another articulated structure than that which has been previously described.

Finally, the bogie according to the invention could equip any other rail vehicle that a tram, for example a metro or a mainline train.
