Die Erfindung betrifft eine Schließvorrichtung mit einem Schließzylinder und einem dazu passenden Schlüssel, wobei der Schlüssel einen flachen Schlüsselbart mit einem schmalen Rücken, zwei im Wesentlichen parallel zueinander verlaufende Breitseiten und auf der dem Rücken gegenüberliegenden Brust an schlüsselbartseitigen Codierpositionen Codierungseinschnitte aufweist, wobei der Schließzylinder ein Zylindergehäuse, einen in einer Lagerbohrung des Zylindergehäuses gelagerten, einen Schlüsselkanal zum Einschub des Schlüsselbarts aufweisenden Zylinderkern, an bei bis an einen Anschlag in den Schlüsselkanal eingeschobenen Schließbart mit den schlüsselbartseitigen Codierpositionen zusammenfallenden zylinderseitigen Codierpositionen angeordnete, mit den schlüsselbartseitigen Codierungseinschnitten zusammenwirkende, in Kernstiftbohrungen einliegende Zuhaltungen und ein in einer sich quer zu den Kernstiftbohrungen erstreckenden Ergänzungskernbohrung steckendes, eine Schlüsselbreitseitenabtaststelle abtastendes Abtastglied aufweist, wobei der Abstand der Schlüsselbreitseitenabtaststelle vom Rücken größer ist als der Abstand des Scheitels des tiefst eingeschnittenen Codierungsabschnitts vom Rücken, wobei die Abtaststelle derart dicht an einer Randkante eines geringer als der tiefst eingeschnittene Codierungseinschnitt eingeschnittenen Codierungseinschnitts liegt, dass eine Vertiefung des geringer eingeschnittenen Codierungseinschnitts auf die Tiefe des tiefst eingeschnittenen Codierungseinschnitts zu einem Wegfall der Abtaststelle führt.
