Ein von der LED 14 abgegebener Lichtstrahl mit einer Hauptstrahlrichtung 17 in Richtung des unteren Rands 62 der Öffnung 60 (siehe Figuren 1 und 2) wird infolge des Hindurchtretens durch die Linse 11 abgelenkt, und zwar mit Bezug auf die Mittelachse 27 der LED 14 und der sich daraus ergebenden Hauptstrahlrichtung 17 um den Winkel 30, wie sich anschaulich aus der Darstellung nach Fig. 3 ergibt. Das Licht durchquert sodann die Linse 11 und gelangt zur Austrittsfläche 19, wo eine erneute Ablenkung stattfindet. Die Summe aus Ablenkung an der Eintrittsfläche 18 und an der Austrittsfläche 19 ergibt die Gesamtablenkung 30 der Hauptstrahlrichtung 17. Das von einer als LED 14 ausgebildeten Lichtquelle 13 abgegebene Licht wird in seiner Ausrichtung durch die Linse 11 abgelenkt, wobei sich der Ablenkungswinkel 30 als Summe aus der Ablenkung an der Eintrittsfläche 18 einerseits und der Austrittsfläche 19 andererseits ergibt. Wie die Ausführungsvariante nach Fig. 7 ferner erkennen lässt, ist die die LED 14 tragende Platine 12 innerhalb eines Gehäuses 15 angeordnet, das einstückig mit der Linse 11 ausgebildet ist. Es ist so eine integrale Baueinheit geschaffen, die aus Lichteinheit 9 und Lichtleitvorrichtung 10 gebildet ist.An alternative embodiment is in the FIGS. 6 and 7 shown.   5. Dishwasher (4) comprising an illumination system (1) according to claim 4, characterised in that the light source (13) is arranged outside the axis of symmetry (16) of the lens (11).
  6. Dishwasher (4) comprising an illumination system (1) according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the light unit (9) and the optical waveguide (10) are detachably interconnected.
  7. Dishwasher (4) comprising an illumination system (1) according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the light unit (9) and the optical waveguide (10) are interconnected by interposing a seal (21).
  8. Dishwasher (4) comprising an illumination system (1) according to any of preceding claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the light unit (9) and the optical waveguide (10) form an integral unit.
  9. Dishwasher (4) comprising an illumination system (1) according to any of the preceding claims, characterised by an additional illumination means (3) which is arranged inside the rinsing chamber (6) provided by the dishwasher (4).
