- the invention relates to a method for shaping a sound tube for sound conduction between a behind the ear portable hearing aid and the ear canal of a hearing aid wearer and such a sound tube and the use of such a sound tube in a portable behind the ear hearing aid.
- the transmission of the sound generated by the hearing aid device from the hearing aid device to the eardrum of a hearing aid wearer generally takes place via a sound tube.
- This is attached to one end of the hearing aid and opens at its other end mostly in an earmold that completely or partially closes the ear canal of the hearing aid wearer. If the sound tube ends loosely in the ear canal, i. Without being held by an earmold, this is called an open supply.
- the sound tube is usually arbitrarily deformable, and he does not maintain its shape after the hearing aid is deposited.
- preformed, elastically deformable sound tubes there are also known preformed, elastically deformable sound tubes.
- the problem arises that a hearing care professional must have a selection of such sound tubes with different shape and length to have in stock for the majority of hearing aid wearers an at least halfway matching sound tube.
- a relatively firm, adapted to the contours of the concha and the tragus shaping is a prerequisite that the portable behind the ear hearing aid sits stably and the earmold without tension in the ear canal.
- the holding part is elastic in the normal state and plastically deformable in the heated state.
- a method for shaping a sound tube for sound conduction between a hearing aid device that can be worn behind the ear and the auditory canal of a hearing aid wearer wherein the sound tube is made of a plastic material.
- a preformed wire is inserted into the sound tube. After heat treatment, the sound tube retains the shape created by the preformed wire.
- the object of the present invention is to provide an individually suitable sound tube for the wearer of a hearing aid device that can be worn behind the ear in a relatively short time.
- a plastically deformable metal core which is preferably designed as a flexible wire.
- the plastic material itself may be plastically or elastically deformable before the treatment, wherein the shape is determined by the metal core.
- the sound tube can easily be given an individual shape adapted to the individual anatomy of a hearing aid wearer.
- the plastic material is treated so that it retains the individual shape elastically deformable after treatment.
- the metal core can be pulled out of the sound tube and the sound tube, which then consists only of the plastic shell, retains its shape without the action of an external force.
- the hearing aid with the sound tube and possibly the earmold can be easily put on and removed again from the ear, without causing the risk of permanently changing the individual shape of the sound tube when placing or removing.
- the invention offers the advantage that a hearing aid acoustician only has to provide a sound tube according to the invention, which can then be adapted to any anatomy of the ear. By a certain stiffness and elastic deformability of the finished sound tube this can also come to a carrying function. A carrying hook, so far is customary in behind the ear portable hearing aids, it can be omitted. By removing the metal core after shaping a sound tube usually made of a transparent plastic material remains very inconspicuous.

- FIG. 2 shows a hearing aid device 7, which can be worn behind an ear 6, with a sound tube 1 which connects the hearing aid device 7 to an ear-piece 8 projecting into the auditory canal.
- the sound tube 1 is traversed by a plastically deformable metal wire 4, so that the sound tube 1 can be adapted in terms of its external shape to the individual anatomical conditions of the hearing aid wearer.
- the hearing aid device 7 and the sound tube 1 are carefully removed from the ear 6 and separated from each other, so that the individual shape of the sound tube 1 remains unchanged.
- the sound tube 1 is shortened in the widened region 3 and the metal wire 4 by means of the cutting tools 9 and 10 to the required length.
- the plastic casing 2 which now forms the sound tube, retains the predetermined shape. It is elastically deformable after the heat treatment, allowing it to be attached of the hearing aid device 7 behind the ear 6 and for removing the hearing aid can be easily brought out of the predetermined shape, but then returns again and again by itself in the once predetermined shape.
- the plastic casing 2 forming the sound tube 1 is preferably made of a transparent material, so that the now finished, individually shaped sound tube 1 can hardly be seen by third parties when worn on the ear.
- a sound tube that is present in the delivery state can already be shortened at the beginning of the adaptation if the required length is already apparent from the individual ear to which the sound tube is to be adapted.
- the cutting (shortening) and shaping can also be carried out several times until the length and shape optimally fit.
- the cutting can also take place only after the heat treatment, so that the individual shaping is not accidentally changed again.
- an individually adapted sound tube can be produced in a short time.
- the acoustician when using a sound tube according to the invention, the acoustician only needs to hold this one type of sound tube. This can then be adapted to each ear anatomy individually, which increases the flexibility of the acoustician and brings more comfort for the hearing aid wearer.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for shaping a sound tube for sound conduction between a behind the ear portable hearing aid and the ear canal of a hearing aid wearer and such a sound tube and the use of such a sound tube in a portable behind the ear hearing aid.
In a hearing aid device that can be worn behind the ear, the transmission of the sound generated by the hearing aid device from the hearing aid device to the eardrum of a hearing aid wearer generally takes place via a sound tube. This is attached to one end of the hearing aid and opens at its other end mostly in an earmold that completely or partially closes the ear canal of the hearing aid wearer. If the sound tube ends loosely in the ear canal, i. Without being held by an earmold, this is called an open supply.
The sound tube is usually arbitrarily deformable, and he does not maintain its shape after the hearing aid is deposited. However, there are also known preformed, elastically deformable sound tubes. In this case, the problem arises that a hearing care professional must have a selection of such sound tubes with different shape and length to have in stock for the majority of hearing aid wearers an at least halfway matching sound tube. In particular, in the application of a sound tube, which at the same time has a carrying function, a relatively firm, adapted to the contours of the concha and the tragus shaping is a prerequisite that the portable behind the ear hearing aid sits stably and the earmold without tension in the ear canal.

The object of the present invention is to provide an individually suitable sound tube for the wearer of a hearing aid device that can be worn behind the ear in a relatively short time.
- Providing the sound tube (1) which initially extends in a straight line and is traversed by the metal core,
- individual shaping of the initially plastically deformable sound tube for adaptation to the hearing aid wearer,
- Treatment of the plastic material such that the sound tube retains the individual shape elastically deformable
- Remove the metal core from the sound tube.
For individual shaping of the sound tube is initially traversed by a plastically deformable metal core, which is preferably designed as a flexible wire. The plastic material itself may be plastically or elastically deformable before the treatment, wherein the shape is determined by the metal core. As a result, the sound tube can easily be given an individual shape adapted to the individual anatomy of a hearing aid wearer. Subsequently, the plastic material is treated so that it retains the individual shape elastically deformable after treatment. Then the metal core can be pulled out of the sound tube and the sound tube, which then consists only of the plastic shell, retains its shape without the action of an external force. The hearing aid with the sound tube and possibly the earmold can be easily put on and removed again from the ear, without causing the risk of permanently changing the individual shape of the sound tube when placing or removing.
The invention offers the advantage that a hearing aid acoustician only has to provide a sound tube according to the invention, which can then be adapted to any anatomy of the ear.
So that the sound tube retains its shape elastically deformable even after removal of the metal core, the sound tube is treated prior to removal of the metal core in such a way that the plastic material of the sound tube retains the predetermined shape elastically deformable. The treatment is preferably carried out by supplying heat energy. For this purpose, the sound tube can be heated from the outside. Another possibility is to heat the metal core and thus supply the heat energy from the inside, so to speak. Another advantageous treatment method is the energy supply by irradiation with UV light. Suitable radiation equipment for this are available at low cost. The treatment of the sound tube for generating a predetermined, elastic, deformable shape is not limited to the methods mentioned. Rather, a variety of other methods applicable.

In this state, the sound tube 1 extends in a straight line. The sound tube 1 comprises a
The above-mentioned steps for producing a custom-shaped sound tube need not necessarily be performed in the order named. Thus, for example, a sound tube that is present in the delivery state can already be shortened at the beginning of the adaptation if the required length is already apparent from the individual ear to which the sound tube is to be adapted. Furthermore, the cutting (shortening) and shaping can also be carried out several times until the length and shape optimally fit. Furthermore, the cutting can also take place only after the heat treatment, so that the individual shaping is not accidentally changed again.
By the invention, an individually adapted sound tube can be produced in a short time. In contrast to the use of preformed tubes, when using a sound tube according to the invention, the acoustician only needs to hold this one type of sound tube. This can then be adapted to each ear anatomy individually, which increases the flexibility of the acoustician and brings more comfort for the hearing aid wearer.
