Description

The invention relates to an arrangement according to the preamble of patent claim 1.

Such an arrangement is apparent from US Pat. No. 5,558,539.

Shielded electrical cables are used where there is interference-free signal transmission is required. They are used, for example, on electronic devices such as oscillographs, measuring devices or control units. The shield of such a line may be at the point of introduction of the The line in the corresponding device must not be interrupted. This also applies if at the end part of a connector is attached to the line, which can be inserted into a device or with a complementary part of the connector is to be plugged together. Even in the area of one shielding of this type must be retained.

In the arrangement known from DE 32 42 073 C2, a shielded line is in one metallic housing of an electrical device introduced. The braid of the The line lies on the outside on a contact element designed as a tube. Is over the screen arranged a same crimp sleeve defining the tube. The line end is embedded moisture-proof in a protective body made of insulating material produced by spraying. The pipe protruding through the wall of the housing has a threaded connector. It is in Installation position inside the housing by a nut screwed onto the threaded connector established. The insulated conductors of the line then protrude through the pipe into the housing.

In the known arrangement according to EP 1 095 429 A1 there is a metallic pipe section between the The core of the cable and the screen surrounding it, arranged in one of the jacket area surrounded by insulating material. The umbrella stripped at its end is like this bent back so that it lies on the outside of the coat. Over the pipe section and the jacket of the A cable with an externally applied shield is one at its rear end projecting over the cable deformable metallic sleeve attached, which rests with its front end on the pipe section. The Sleeve is through a screwed onto the union nut at its deformable, free end pressed onto the jacket of the line with a screen and the pipe section below. The Functional reliability of this known arrangement is essential in terms of strength and inventory depending on the coat. It is therefore not guaranteed in the long term, since the material of the jacket which yields to the same relatively quickly. The many parts of the The arrangement then loosens and the shielding is interrupted.

The aforementioned US Pat. No. 5,558,539 describes an arrangement for connecting a Connector to a shielded electrical cable, the shield of which is a braid made of metallic Wires is. The arrangement has a tubular, metallic contact element on the outer one Surface of the shield of the cable rests all around and through which the cable is passed is. The connector is arranged in a metallic housing. The contact element is out protruding pipe socket formed, at the end lying in the housing one radially outwardly extending extension is attached, which abuts the wall. The screen lies on the outside of the pipe socket. It is designed as a cable clamp Fastener set on the pipe socket.

The invention has for its object to design the arrangement described above so that it is permanent with a simple structure and fully effective shielding.

This object is achieved in accordance with the characterizing features of patent claim 1. This arrangement is simple and easy to use. For the Connection of the line to the metallic housing of the connector only has to Contact element inserted through an existing hole in the same wall be that its circumferential extension is tight and tight against the wall. The conductor and shield of the line are made of their insulating material Coat freed. The conductor is protruding from the housing Pipe socket of the contact element inserted through. At the same time, the The screen is pushed onto the outside of the pipe socket. The preferably beforehand on the The cable is pushed onto the crimp sleeve until it touches the wall of the housing in position and in this position around the screen and Squeezed pipe socket around. The screen is thereby fixed to the contact element and the contact element itself is without additional fasteners with the Housing connected and attached to the wall. Because the screen is right on rests on the pipe socket and the crimp sleeve is attached directly above the screen is a permanent arrangement with safe shielding of the cable and connectors.

The crimp sleeve can extend over the jacket of the appropriate length Line. But it is also possible to apply a shrink tube, which rests on a shorter ferrule and on the jacket of the line.

In Fig. 1, a connector 1 is shown schematically, which is a Part of an electrical connector. The connector 1 can with Be equipped with plug pins or socket contacts. To connector 1 is a shielded electrical line 2 connected to at least one insulated electrical conductor (wire). Line 2 usually has two or more veins, which if necessary with additional coverings the soul the line 2 form. This is from a braid of metallic wires, surrounded in particular from copper wires, executed shield 3, above the one Jacket 4 made of insulating material is attached (Fig. 2 and 4). The connector 1 is surrounded by a cup-shaped, metallic housing 5, the only one Leaves mating side free. For example, it consists of zinc. Line 2 or their Soul is passed through the wall of the housing 5.

The connection of the screen 3 of the line 2 with the housing 5 is as follows explained with reference to FIGS. 2 to 4, in which only those for understanding the Arrangement required parts of line 2 are shown:

To insert the line 2 or the soul thereof into the housing 5 is a Pipe socket 6 trained contact element used. The pipe socket 6 is made for example made of steel or stainless steel. It also serves to connect the Shield 3 of line 2 with the metallic housing 5 and thus the safe Through connection of the shielding. The pipe socket 6 is in a hole in the wall of the housing 5 used. It has on its inside the housing 5 End one protruding preferably with a right-angled transition to the outside Extension 7, which is tight and tight against the wall of the housing 5. The can be achieved, for example, by a squeeze ring 8 made of zinc be pressed on the outside of the extension 7. The squeeze ring 8 can but also be made in one piece with the extension 7 of the pipe socket 6.

The pipe socket 6 protrudes from the housing 5. On its outer The circumferential surface of the screen 3 of the line 2 lies all around. He is at the pipe socket 6 by a crimp sleeve 9 made, for example, of brass or copper fixed, which lies directly on the screen 3 and the same on the Pipe socket 6 presses. The crimp sleeve 9 is also with an end face close to the wall of the housing 5. It serves primarily for the firm connection of screen 3 and pipe socket 6 and in cooperation with the extension 7 of the pipe socket 6 to support the connection on Housing 5. After crimping, the crimp sleeve 9 can correspond to FIG. 3 for example, have a hexagonal cross section.

Dadurch ist der Mantel 4 auf einfache Weise so an der Verbindungsstelle gehalten, daß er nicht wegrutschen kann.2, the crimp sleeve 9 may be so long that it extends over the jacket 4 the line 2 protrudes. It is then also squeezed with this. This is the Coat 4 held in a simple manner at the junction so that it does not can slip away.

As an alternative to the embodiment according to FIG. 2, a short one according to FIG. 4 can also be used Crimp sleeve 9 are used. In this case, one out of one existing heat shrinkable material when heat shrinking material 10 are used, which rests on the crimp sleeve 9 and extends over the jacket 4 of the line 2 extends. Even so, the jacket 4 is at the junction recorded. The shrink tube 10 can also on its outer surface be marked with a label.

The arrangement according to the invention is produced, for example, as follows:

The pipe socket 6 is pushed through a hole in the wall of the housing 5 and attached to the crimp ring 8, for example, on the same. The end of Line 2 or its soul is then pushed through the pipe socket 6 and on attached to it. For this purpose, the jacket 4 of the line 2 is on a given length removed. The screen 3 thus exposed becomes like this widely shortened (separated) that the core or cores of the core of line 2 with of sufficient length protrudes from it. At the Pushing the core of the line 2 through the pipe socket 6 is simultaneously the screen 3 pushed onto the outside of the pipe socket 6. The screen 3 expanded somewhat because of the larger outer diameter of the pipe socket 6, so that it is tight against the same. This is due to a conically shaped end of the Pipe socket 6 facilitated, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 4. The previously on the line 2 pushed on crimp sleeve 9 is then positioned and with the Screen 3 and possibly the jacket 4 of line 2 squeezed.
