Für die Erfassung von Meßwertreihen, die den Verlauf des Augeninnendrucks über einen oder mehrere Tage darstellen, ist normalerweise ein stationärer Aufenthalt des Patienten in einer Klinik nötig. Dadurch ist der Augeninnendruckverlauf unter den gewöhnlichen täglichen Lebensbedingungen kaum zugänglich. Auch ist eine Erfassung des Augeninnendruckverlaufs mit sehr kurzen Zeitintervallen über einen längeren Zeitraum ebenfalls nicht möglich.
