Definitions
- the present invention relates to a monopolar modular splitter for connecting multiple conductors to the same potential provided by a power cable.
- an apparatus called a splitter is often used downstream of the head apparatus to divide a single input power supply into a plurality of output power supplies of reduced intensities. It may be in particular modular distributors that, together with other electrical appliances also qualified as modular, are arranged side by side on the same support rail and whose width is a multiple of a basic module common to all these electrical devices.
- splitters are most often multipole in that they realize the distribution of several poles of different potentials.
- splitters of this type are bipolar splitters which comprise two parallel connection strips, each forming by itself a row of terminals for the conductors, with for example a phase bar and a neutral bar, or alternatively 3-pole or 4-pole splitters with three or four parallel parallel bars, with two or three phase bars and a neutral strip.
- connection blocks which, for reasons of isolation and safety of intervention, must be housed in housings individual insulators each dedicated to a specific pole.
- Such dispatchers are called monopolar.
- any modular device strict congestion constraints are imposed on such a modular monopolar distributor.
- the depth of the box of the distributor that is to say the distance between its front and rear walls, is limited in relation to its height, which limits in the same proportions the size that can be tolerated for the connection block.
- the aim of the invention is to propose a monopolar modular distributor of the aforementioned type, allowing a verification of the correct insertion of the conductors in the receiving bores of the connection block and respecting the limitations of space, especially in depth, of the box imposed by the standards.
- a monopolar modular distributor of the aforementioned type in which the front wall of the housing having a the second side of the connection block, from which the clamping screws are accessible, has a stair-shaped surface with three steps, each of which is associated with one of the rows of receiving bores and the row of corresponding clamping screw, with a first step which is adjacent to the rear wall of the housing and which is equipped with the input terminal and a last step which is received at least partially in the nose of the front wall of the housing, each of the three steps of the stepped surface of the second side of the connection block having a counter-step face on which opens a second end of the receiving bores of an associated row, through which the conductors stand out, and a walking face on which are accessible the heads of the corresponding row of clamping screws.
- the conductors which are introduced from the first side of the connection block by the first end of the corresponding receiving bores, emerge from these bores at their second end, second side of the connection block.
- the ends of the conductors may protrude against the faces of the stepped surface of the second side of the connection block to allow direct visualization by the operator of the proper insertion of each conductor in the bore that the receives, with crossing the corresponding clamping screw.
- connection block is obtained whose total depth is greater than that of the space available inside the housing.
- At least one of the facing faces of the stepped surface of the second side of the connection block is flush with respect to this second side.
- This arrangement strikes one or more faces against the stepped surface of the second side of the connection block makes it easier to visualize the end of each conductor projecting from the hole in which it is received, without this overflow is too important.
- the first side of the connection block from which the first end of the conductor receiving bores opens, also has a three-step staircase surface having three facing faces opposed to the counter faces. step of the stepped surface of the second side of the connection block and each of which opens the first end of a corresponding row of receiving bores of the conductors. This minimizes the total volume of material of the connection block, which reduces both cost and weight. In addition, the insertion of each conductor on a stripped end of standard length is facilitated.
- the last-step face of the stepped surface of the first side of the connection block is flush with respect to the second side of this block. This facilitates the introduction of the conductors in the receiving holes by this last-side face.
- a monopolar modular distributor for connecting a plurality of conductors (not shown) to the same potential provided by a power supply cable (not shown), comprises a housing 1 of insulating plastic, generally parallelepiped shape.
- This housing comprises, on four of its opposite sides two by two, two lateral flanges 2, 3, a rear wall 4 and a front wall 5.
- the housing 1 has two other opposite sides, namely, with reference to the representation of the 1 where the front and rear walls 5 and 4 and two side plates 2 and 3 are vertical, an upper side on which the housing 1 has an upper wall 6 in which is formed an upper inlet opening 7 for the passage of the cable and a lower side on which the housing 1 has a wide lower outlet opening 8 for the passage of the conductors.
- the lower outlet opening 8 is simply delimited by the lower edges of the two lateral flanges 2 and 3 and the front and rear walls 5 and 4.
- the rear wall 4 of the housing 1 is externally provided with fastening means 10 for its sliding mounting on a support rail (not shown) of a distribution board (not shown).
- the front wall 5 of the housing 1 has in turn a recess or nose 11 projecting from the outside. This nose is intended to carry an inscription, a light or a control organ, and to through an insulating cover or pad (not shown) of the distribution board to be visible and accessible from outside this front plate.
- the casing 1 is made from a tulip blank molded flat as illustrated by FIGS. 6 and 7, then placed in volume as illustrated by FIGS. 1 and 2.
- This blank made of molded plastic and represented in FIGS. 6 and 7, comprises a rectangular central panel 6 constituting, after placing in volume, the upper wall of the housing 1 in which is formed the upper inlet opening 7.
- This central panel 6 has four sides to which are connected four side panels .
- first side panel 2 and a second side panel 3 which are symmetrical to one another with respect to a median plane of symmetry of the blank and the box obtained after shaping and which are respectively connected to first and second opposite sides of the central panel 6 by hinge connection areas 12, 13.
- These hinge connection areas 12, 13 allow a substantially right-angle bearing of the first and second side panels 2 and 3 for the implementation. volume of the housing, such that these first and second side panels form the two side plates 2, 3, as shown in Figures 1 and 2.
- the first and second side panels 2 and 3 each have, at their rear edge, an interior right-angled return 4.1, 4.2 extending substantially in a plane passing through a fourth side of the panel central 6 opposite to the third side.
- These returns 4.1, 4.2 are each one half of the rear wall 4 of the housing 1 and are thus arranged to be, after setting volume, contiguous to form the rear wall 4 of the housing 1.
- the returns 4.1, 4.2 have free edges 17, 18 which, after setting volume, are joined. These free edges 17, 18 are provided with locking means which hold the first and second panels 2, 3 in their volume configuration forming the lateral flanges 2, 3 and the rear wall 4 of the housing 1.
- These locking means equipping returns 4.1, 4.2 include in this case snap means 19, 20 as well as complementary interlocking means 21, 22 of the type mortise and tenon. This gives both an automatic locking by the snap-fastening means by simple close contact of the returns 4.1, 4.2 of the first and second side panels 2, 3 and a rigid retention in shear and bending of the rear wall 4 formed by the two returns 4.1, 4.2 in the contiguous interface area of their free edges 17, 18.
- Each of the returns 4.1, 4.2 of the first and second side panels 2, 3 is externally provided with a corresponding portion of the fastening means 10 of the rear wall 4 of the housing 1 for sliding mounting this housing on the support rail of a distribution board (not shown).
- first and second side panels 2, 3 each have an inner projecting lug 23, 24 which extends parallel to and away from the return 4.1, 4.2 of said panel.
- These projecting lugs 23, 24 are, after setting volume, contiguous so as to form a reinforcing spacer intervening between the two side plates 2, 3 of the housing 1 formed by said panels.
- the spacer thus formed by the projecting lugs 23, 24 further reinforces the rigidity of the casing 1 after its setting in volume and in particular its resistance to possible lateral compression forces exerted on the flanges 2, 3, which may occur during of the transport, handling or assembly of the housing 1.
- the projecting lugs 23, 24 have free edges 25, 26 which, after placing in volume, are joined and connected by complementary interlocking means 27, 28 type mortise and tenon. These interlocking means further reinforce the resistance to bending and shearing of the spacer formed by the projecting lugs 23, 24 in the interface zone between their contiguous free edges 25, 26.
- Each of the lateral flanges 2, 3 has, opposite its return 4.1, 4.2, a front edge 40, 41 which is arranged in correspondence with the corresponding lateral edge of the front wall 5 and which consequently has a slot 42 , 43 matching the corresponding lateral edge of the nose 11 of the front wall 5.
- a third side panel 5 which is connected to a third side of the central panel 6 by a hinge connection zone 14 allowing a substantially perpendicular bearing of this third side panel for the volume of the housing, such that so that this third side panel forms the front wall of the housing 1, according to the illustration of Figure 1.
- This third side panel 5 is provided with locking means here made in the form of lateral projecting lugs 30, 31 formed on the lateral edges of this side panel 5, at the lower base of the nose 11, which, after the volume development of the first and second side panels 2, 3 to form the side flanges and the rear wall 4 of the housing 1, cooperate with corresponding means side flanges 2, 3, here constituted by notches 32, 33 formed on the corresponding front edges 40, 41 of these side flanges, at the lower base of the slots 42, 43.
- the engagement of the lugs 30, 31 in the notches 32, 33 thus maintains the third side panel 5 in its setting configuration. in volume in which it forms the front wall of the housing 1, as shown in Figure 1.
- the slots 42, 43 of the front edge 40, 41 of the flanges side 2, 3 have a blunt lower angle 44, for example rounded as in the present case or beveled, which forms a ramp for the lugs 30, 31 of crossing a hard point forcing the elastic flexion of the nose 11.
- the lugs 30, 31 of the front wall 5 are disengageable from the notches 32, 33 by simple elastic deformation in flexion of the front wall 5.
- This disengagement of the lugs 30, 31 from their engagement with the notches 32, 33 can be realized independently of the locking means 19, 20, 21, 22 of the returns 4.1, 4.2 of the first and second side panels 2, 3. It is thus possible to open the front wall 5 of the housing 1 by pivoting around its connection area hinge 14 to the central panel 6 in the manner of a hood by means of a screwdriver in the slot F of the front wall 5, while maintaining the first and second side panels in their volume configuration forming the lateral flanges 2, 3 and the rear wall 4.
- the third side panel 5 is simply folded against the corresponding front edges of the two side flanges 2, 3.
- the lugs 30, 31 of the wall before 5 are then engaged with the notches 32, 33 formed in the corresponding front edges of the two side flanges 2, 3 to maintain the front wall 5 closed.
- the housing 1 is then closed, with the exception of its openings 7, 8 for the passage of conductors connected to the equipment it contains, as will be better explained later.
- the front wall 5 can be raised in the manner of a hood by disengaging the lugs 30, 31 from their grip with the notches 32, 33, so as to open a wide access and direct inside the housing 1, and therefore to the apparatus it contains.
- the blank from which the housing 1 is made comprises, as can be seen in FIGS. 2, 6 and 7, a fourth side panel 35 which is connected to the fourth side of the central panel 6 by a hinge connection zone 36 allowing it to be raised. at right angles to the volume of the casing 1 and which, after setting volume, form a lining wall of the rear wall 4.
- This doubling of the rear wall 4 of the housing 1 reinforces the insulation of the electrical equipment that it contains vis-à-vis everything that is at the rear of the housing 1 and in particular vis-à-vis the support rail of the distribution board (not shown) on which is reported the housing 1, which is usually made of conductive metal material.
- the doubling wall 35 forms, after placing the casing 1 in volume, a kind of baffle which lengthens the path of the creepage lines emanating from the apparatus housed in the casing 1 and which may pass through the rear wall 4 , between the free edges 17, 18 of the returns 4.1, 4.2 which form the rear wall 4 and between which necessarily remains a certain empty space conducive to the passage of a possible flow path.
- this reinforcement of the insulation of the electrical equipment is particularly useful when the housing 1 encloses an apparatus subjected to high intensities and / or voltages, as is the case in particular for a single-phase distributor box.
- the housing 1 is intended to receive a splitter which, as will be explained later, is subjected to a high intensity and / or voltage essentially in its upper part, close to the upper inlet opening 7 by which the apparatus is connected to the source potential. That is why it is here provided that the lining wall 35 formed by the fourth side panel extends only at about half the height of the rear wall 4 formed by the returns 4.1, 4.2 of the first and second side panels 2, 3.
- the doubling wall 35 formed by the fourth side panel is, after setting volume, located on the inside of the rear wall 4 formed by the returns 4.1, 4.2 of the first and second side panels 2, 3
- the return 4.1, 4.2 of each of the first and second side panels 2, 3 is provided with a setting notch 37, 38 which, after placing in volume, receives the free end of the fourth side panel forming the wall. dubbing 35.
- the blank shown in FIGS. 6 and 7 is thus obtained directly from molding, with all of the main constituent elements of the casing 1, namely the two lateral flanges 2, 3, the front wall 5 and the rear wall 4 formed by the returns 4.1, 4.2 side flanges 2, 3.
- the housing 1 is then obtained by a simple volume-setting operation by rotating the four side panels 2, 3, 5, 35 around their respective hinge connection areas. More specifically, after the fourth side panel 35 has been raised, substantially at right angles, the first and second side panels 2, 3 are raised in turn, so that their returns 4.1, 4.2 are closed one again. against the other, edge to edge, behind the fourth side panel 35, the free end of the fourth panel being housed in the associated wedging notches 37, 38 returns 4.1, 4.2.
- the locking means 19, 20, 21, 22 equipping the returns 4.1, 4.2 are engaged so as to maintain the volume of the two side plates 2, 3, the rear wall 4 and the lining wall 35 of the housing 1 All that remains is to fold back the third side panel 5 between the corresponding front edges of the lateral flanges 2, 3, engaging the lugs 30, 31 in the notches 32, 33 so that this third side panel forms the wall before the housing 1, thus completing the formation of this housing.
- the rear wall 4 of the housing 1 is constituted by two returns 4.1, 4.2 in one piece with the side panels 2, 3 forming the side flanges of the housing 1 considerably stiffens, not only the housing 1 him same, but also its connection with the aforementioned support rail of the distribution board (not shown) made by the fixing means 10 equipping returns 4.1, 4.2. Therefore, the simplicity and low manufacturing cost of the casing 1 thus formed does not penalize the essential mechanical strength properties of this housing.
- the housing 1 internally receives a conductive connection block 50, for example made of brass.
- This connection block 50 has a first side 51 which is located opposite the lower outlet opening 8 of the housing 1 and which for this reason will be referred to below as the lower side.
- This lower side 51 of the connection block 50 has a bottom surface 52 in the form of a staircase with three steps having three walking faces 53, 54, 55 oriented facing the lower opening 8 of the housing 1 and three counter faces. run 56, 57, 58 oriented facing the rear wall 4 of the housing 1.
- the stepped surface 52 of the lower side 51 of the connection block 50 thus has three steps, with a first step formed by the reverse side 56 and the walking face 53, a second step formed by the stepping face 57 and the walking face 54 and a third and last step formed by the stepping face 58 and the walking face 55.
- connection block 50 has a second side 59 which is located facing the front wall 5 of the housing 1 and which will hereinafter be referred to as the front side.
- This front side 59 of the housing 1 has a surface 60 in the form of a staircase with three steps having three running faces 61, 62, 63 oriented facing the front wall 5 of the housing 1 and three faces of against-step 64, 65 , 66 facing the upper inlet opening 7 of the housing 1.
- the stepped surface 60 of the front side 59 of the connection block 50 thus has three steps, with a first step formed by the counter-step face 64 and the walking face 61, a second step formed by the counter-step face 65 and the walking face 62 and a third and last step formed by the counter-step face 66 and the walking face 63.
- the last-step face 63 of the stepped surface 60 and the last-step face 55 of the stepped surfaces 52 are adjacent and are connected by a common edge.
- connection block 50 has on both sides 51 and 59 opposite sides two by two.
- the walking faces 53, 54, 55 of the stepped surface 52 of the lower side 51 of the connection block 50 are opposed respectively to the counter-step faces 64, 65, 66 of the step surface 60 of the front side 59 of this block.
- the backing faces 56, 57, 58 of the stepped surface 52 of the lower side 51 of the block 50 are respectively opposed to the running faces 61, 62, 63 of the stepped surface 60 of the front side 59 of this block.
- each of the backing faces 64, 65, 66 of the stepped surface 60 of the front side 59 of the housing 1 and the corresponding walking faces 53, 54, 55 of the stepped surface 52 of the lower side 51 of this housing is associated a row of through holes 67, 68, 69 for receiving the stripped ends of the aforementioned conductors and thus forming by themselves output terminals (or departure) for the connection of the conductors.
- Each of these receiving bores 67, 68, 69 has a first end 70, 71, 72 which opens on the step face 53, 54, 55 to which is associated the corresponding row to which the hole concerned belongs and a second end 73 , 74, 75 which opens on the counter-step face 64, 65, 66 opposite, associated with the same row.
- the conductors which are introduced on the lower side 51 of the connection block 50 by the first end 70, 71, 72 of the corresponding receiving bores 67, 68, 69, emerge from these bores by their second end 73, 74, 75, on the front side 59 of the connection block 50.
- the ends of the conductors may overflow against the counter faces 64, 65, 66 of the stepped surface 60 of the front side 59 of the connection block 50 to allow direct visualization by the operator of the proper depression of each conductor in the receiving bore 67, 68, 69 which receives it.
- each of the counter faces 64, 65, 66 of the stepped surface 60 of the front side 59 of the connection block 50 is flush with respect to this second side.

- this last-running face 55 extends generally obliquely with respect to the axes of the receiving bores 69 which open on this last-step face, so as to be visible at an angle by an observer located on the front side 59 of the block connection 50 and looking in a direction perpendicular to the axes of the receiving holes 69 associated with the last-step faces of the stepped surfaces 52 and 60.
- This clearance arrangement facilitates the introduction of the conductors in the receiving holes 69 by this face of last step 55 of the stepped surface 52 of the lower side of the block 50.
- each of the three rows of receiving bores 67, 68, 69 is associated a row of transverse clamping screws 80, 81, 82 accessible on the step face 61, 62, 63 adjacent to the counter-step face 64, 65 , 66 on which opens the row of receiving bores 67, 68, 69 concerned. More specifically, these transverse clamping screws 80, 81, 82 are engaged in three rows of threaded bores 83, 84, 85 respectively formed on the running faces 61, 62, 63 of the step surface 60 of the front side 59 of the block. connection 50, along axes perpendicular to the axes of the receiving bores 67, 68, 69 with which they are associated, so as to open into these bores reception.
- transverse clamping screws 80, 81, 82 are engaged in the tapped holes 83, 84, 85 so that their end opens into the receiving bores 67, 68, 69 associated to make the connection and the immobilization from the bare end a conductor received in the receiving bore 67, 68, 69 concerned.
- Two connecting tabs 76, 77 extend projecting from the first step face 64 of the stepped surface 60 of the front side 59 of the connection block 50, in the direction of the upper wall 6 of the housing 1, underneath receiving holes 67 and in the extension of the face of the first step 56 of the stepped surface 52 of the lower side 51 of the connection block 50.
