Claims (8)

  1. Roll stand (1) with multiple rolls for rolling strip-shaped rolling stock, said stand having a lower and an upper working roll (3, 4), support rolls (5, 6, 7, 8) associated with the working rolls (3, 4), roll bending devices (17, 18) for the working rolls as well as devices (21) for advancing and balancing the support rolls (5, 6, 7, 8), the lower and the upper working rolls (3, 4) of the roll stand (1) being mounted in two lower and two upper support rolls, which are arranged symmetrically with respect to the vertical roll axis plane (9-9) of the working rolls (3, 4) and are mounted in pairs in lower and upper support roll insert parts (10, 11) characterised in that, for the flexible rolling of strip stock (2), the four support rolls (5, 6, 7, 8) may be displaced independently of one another in an axial direction by the same or different distances (S) relative to the vertical centre plane (23-23) of the roll stand (1), for balancing the roll set bending which occurs and for adapting to the strip width (22).
  2. Multi-roll stand according to claim 1, characterised in that the support rolls (5-8) are mounted in bearing units (10a, 10b, 11a, 11b) which are arranged in the support roll insert parts (10, 11) so as to be displaceable in the axial direction of the support rolls.
  3. Multi-roll stand according to claims 1 and 2, characterised in that the pressure of the working roll bending devices (17, 18), which are actuated by a pressure medium, is adjustable between a lower pressure value for balancing the working rolls (3, 4) and for slip-preventing pressing of same against the support rolls (5, 6, 7, 8), and an upper pressure value acting as a positive bending force.
  4. Multi-roll stand according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterised by the working roll bending devices (17, 18) being controlled as a function of the rolling force (F).
  5. Multi-roll stand according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterised by the working roll bending devices (17, 18) being controlled as a function of the strip width (22).
  6. Multi-roll stand according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterised by the working roll bending devices (17, 18) being controlled as a function of the displacement position of the support rolls (5, 6, 7, 8).
  7. Multi-roll stand according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the balancing devices (19, 20) for the support rolls (5, 6, 7, 8) have adjusting cylinders acting on the support roll insert parts (10, 11) with storage units for continuously changing the advancing position of the support rolls (5, 6, 7, 8).
  8. Multi-roll stand according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterised by drive motors (14) for the support rolls (5, 6, 7, 8), which motors are attached to the support roll insert parts (10, 11) and/or the bearing units (10a, 10b, 11a, 11b).
